I don't see the need to hang on to Robert or Cease. The farm is so barren and there's no guarantee that they'll still be good by the time this team is truly ready to compete again. But I guess that's part of JR's schtick of making fans believe that the team is competitive.

Even with all of the holes filled, this is a .500 team. Even if this team does better than .500, they still won’t be able to compete with the heavyweights in the AL or NL. Everything needs to be blown up, front office included.

This is why trading Robert and Cease is absolutely necessary. The White Sox farm system is so poor that they’ll never be ready to compete while Robert and Cease are still good. Get something for them now and start a full scale rebuild.

They would be good fits on teams that are loaded at other positions. They’re just guys here on a team that isn’t very good.
