Even not being a top tier team and mired in mediocrity, the Sox are #15 most valuable team in baseball. A's are 29th. Give the Sox a consistently good team and they'd skyrocket. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2023/03/23/baseballs-most-valuable-teams-2023-price-tags-are-up-12-despite-regional-tv-woes/

Sox Reddit does make solid counterpoints There have been inklings of MLB wanting to expand. This could be good or bad for this scenario because how many cities would have buyers and stadium deals lined up (especially post Vegas A's) while Jerry is still alive? I know that's playing with fire, but all it takes is one owner to say "staying in Chicago" vs. "financing a move and stadium build." A new stadium just ain't happening in his lifetime.

Serious post: If Reinsdorf were to fucking move the Sox away from the fucking South Side of Chicago it would be such a God damn betrayal to the fans of an original American League team. He's already made us endure s%*# show after s%*# show and because his fairytale ending with TLR didn't work because they didn't go all in, he'll take it out on a die-hard fanbase. The absolute audacity of the man.

God I love baseball and its stupid ways

After he had HR #9 in game 1

You sure James? 5.2 IP with 1 hit, 2 ER and 10 strikeouts screams "broken prospect."

Jake Burger deserves so much better than Imo's Pizza.

Post it as a Twitter (not X.com) link. Remove the UTM code (the question mark and everything afterwards).

Yeah, Tatis murdered A-ball before they moved him up.

Normally I get where you're going with these, but you've lost me here. I mean, for starters, there's no In-N-Out east of the Mississippi.

Deciding to watch the Barons and Cannon Ballers the past two days (again, thanks @Autumn Dreamin) — they have so much more life and fight than the Sox. Barons we're trying hard to come back last night. Ballers just tied it up.

lmao I moved it because like you said, Burger's not on the White Sox anymore and as I pointed out, it had become the Jake Burger Update Thread. As for the bolded, holy s%*#, this is incredible hyperbole. I left a redirect link in Pale Hose and explained why it was moved, so if you think it is such a colossal effort for people to scroll two sections down to talk about Jake Burger, then maybe it was time to move to it to Diamond Talk.

Yeah, there's a reason Brad Pitt played Billy Beane and not Rick Hahn.
-
...they had a pulse beforehand?

Please let the Sox put a contending team around Luis Robert.

Quero keeps things alive with a good at-bat to draw a walk, advances on a wild pitch, and then Elko sends a double to the gap in right to drive him in.

He's alive!

Yeah there's a big difference between having a bottom tier owner in North American sports and having the actual worst owner. Reinsdorf threatened to move the team, got his deal and has stayed put. The A's routinely self off their star players cause Brad Pitt played their GM in a movie, then blame fans for not showing up, threaten to move, get a good deal from the city, and tell them to f*** off anyway.
