  1. And what glorious at bats they were.
  2. The Yankees: "Oh, no. Please, stop. Not Josh Donaldson, we could never afford to lose him!"
  3. In a world where we can have nice things, give me Rodon - then spend "cheap" money on Gallo and Profar to appease Jerry. Assume Carlos is $30M and Gallo/Profar are $10M each - you've suddenly got a shored up outfield defense, lefty bats, some rotational depth with, a lefty (an ace to boot!) --- the payroll would be at $218 million, which would currently be 5th in MLB (just behind the Braves, far behind the NY teams and Philly).
  4. Because people want to be proven right on his risky health. I wanna see Carlos get the bag he rightfully deserves and that the Sox should have given him.
  5. I hear you, but also, Michael Conforto.
  6. Honestly, I'm beginning to feel for the scouting department.
  7. Imagine if we had locked him up with some escalating options or something a few years ago. Just imagine we had former Sox major leaguers Jose Abreu, Carlos Rodon, Chris Bassitt, Marcus Semien and Jose Quintana.
  8. Engel and Victor Reyes are much better AAAA depth than we're used to. The problem is right now we don't have the OF depth to make them AAAA depth.
  9. Give me nine dudes who bat flip and are All-Stars.
  10. Everyone else: Arms race Reinsdorf: "You all hurt Tony's feelings, so no."
  11. Dear Lord.
  12. Steve Cohen is just flexing on the rest of the league my GOD.
  13. Put some respect on former White Sox top prospect Simon Castro! For real though, if anyone thinks the current farm is bad, the Nestor Molina / Simon Castro days were real bad.
  14. Clearly not grasping for straws here.
  15. Ethan Katz with Carlos Rodon vs. Don Cooper with Carlos Rodon?
  16. Phil Humber until the perfect game?
  17. This stat annoys me because until 1969, there wasn't even an LCS. We're all aware of the World Series drought, but this is "I am very smart" people trying to present it differently. It's basically ragging on the 50s and 60s White Sox for being worse than Mickey Mantle's Yankees during the regular season. 5 times they finished 2nd in the AL, 5 times they finished 3rd. That being said, 53 years of playoff failure is also fucking abysmal, and Jerry has been in charge for 41 of those.
  18. I was about to say don't count out the Pirates front office, but they'd offer one fourth.
  19. "Tim is an All-Star starter!" sad clapping noises
  20. Quin replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
I was just gifted some egg nog cookies that were amazing. They looked vaguely like these: https://www.recipegirl.com/eggnog-cookies/
  21. Cohen is also competing for a casino license. Which would go right by Citi Field. So if the Mets are good and foot traffic is heavy, he profits. Edit: Jerry could also follow the simple formula of good team + invest in infrastructure / entertainment around stadium besides parking = profit, but, no.
  22. Some dudes in 2019. Swanson isn't as good as them, but he's not gonna look as pricey in a few years, like how Harper looks real affordable now.
  23. Bryan Ramos feels like a guy Oakland would turn into a star just because it would cause us pain.
  24. I mean at that point you do just trade Cease because you can get an absolutely stupid offer.
  25. You two are basically France and England.
