Who wins: White Sox or Ex-Sox
Because we're all taking a lot of emotional pain, I decided to add to it. Who wins in a seven game series, the current White Sox or the following 26-man roster made of active ex-Sox (and prospects):. The rules: Assume perfect health for both sides If Engel, Mendick or Cueto re-signed, they'd be added back. Pick whoever you want from the org to fill in the holes on the Sox roster: Mark Payton in RF, go for it! Burger at second? Sure! C : Omar Narvaez 1B: Jose Abreu 2B: Marcus Semien SS: Fernando Tatis Jr. 3B: Eduardo Escobar LF: AJ Pollock CF: Trayce Thompson RF: Luis Gonzalez DH: Avi Garcia Bench: James McCann, Josh Harrison, Adam Engel, Danny Mendick SP: Carlos Rodon, Frankie Montas, Jose Quintana, Chris Bassitt, Chris Sale RP: Vince Velasquez, Johnny Cueto, Dane Dunning, Konnor Pilkington, Ryan Tepara, David Robertson, Craig Kimbrel, Alex Colome

Rodon to the Yankees, $162 million
Montas and Rodon in the Yanks rotation. Dear god so much good talent has been squandered here.

Rodon to the Yankees, $162 million
His philosophy just did not work with the modern game.

Sell the Team
I mean, the Dodgers and Giants only moved because Robert Moses was a dick and wanted them to move to Queens, when both teams wanted to stay in Brooklyn and Manhattan, respectively. The Mets moving right in shows that NY could always support two teams.

Sell the Team
Dying over here. So what is it about? Homegrown talent? Because Jerry has shown Frank Thomas, Mark Buehrle, and Jose Abreu the door. He also didn't spend on the draft when he could have and the Sox don't spend on scouting compared to other franchises. Is it about a fan experience? Because while I love The Cell (the only park I've ever known), he had the chance to have Camden Yards with the Chicago skyline in the background. Or the beautiful Armor Square Park design that has floated over the years. Instead, they've spent millions fixing a blighted stadium ridiculed for initially being a cookie cutter eyesore. I will note that the Cell has the best food in the majors and the lower level is phenomenal. Upper Deck sucks ass, especially compared to other stadiums. Oh, let's also remember that he passed up the name Wintrust Field at Comiskey Park, the ultimate good will name with fans, for a giant down arrow. Jerry has one thing: He's a loyal man. It's commendable. But his loyalty has also destroyed another shot at winning that didn't require winning at any cost because he had to bring back a has-been manager who couldn't stay awake in dugouts.

Sell the Team
"We were not factors for major free agents. This is a good thing, because we are never a factor for major free agents, and thus we must compete with teams competing in smaller markets than Chicago."

Sell the Team
"We may miss the playoffs, but at least we consistently miss the playoffs."

Sell the Team
All time loser post. You're saying fans are cry babies for wanting to win.

All of White Sox Twitter is banned after the first unpopular move.

Eh, let's slow the roll. I don't think I'd take any crypto billionaire at the moment.

I can just see it now. To buy tickets, you have to register with a Twitter Blue account.

Sox working on signing a LF
This is exactly why I want Profar...but alongside a second OF. I'd love to sign him + Gallo or Benintendi, but alone just feels like a band aid.

How often each team has made the playoffs since being in their current city
Have some respect for the Sox teams that had the misfortune of running into a dynastic buzzsaw. And we can get credit Comiskey's cheapness (sound familiar?) leading to the Sox being uncompetitive for decades. Basically: Charles Comiskey and Jerry Reinsdorf suck, but don't lump the teams that tried to compete in with this.

While I'm not condoning it, if we're really gonna start making big deals about players cheating on spouses and what not, it's probably time to start clearing out some clubhouses.

Merkin: Colas figures to be Sox 2023 RF
I mean, Gordon talks a lot about how he let mental pressures get to him. I'd just like to see the Sox get some extra outfield help and not place the task of replacing Jose Abreu on Colas' shoulders. I think Colas could be that guy some day, but I'd like to see them give him some room to struggle if he does.

Merkin: Colas figures to be Sox 2023 RF
I love Colas as a prospect, but Houston was less relying on Pena and more "supplementing a loaded lineup with Pena."

It's cause he's a shortstop isn't it? We famously only have stoic shortstops on the Southside.

2023 MLB offseason signings and rumors thread
I'm all aboard this Mets bandwagon, hot damn. Imagine a team having James McCann in their lineup and going "we're not gonna rely on that rinky dink bat. Better fill the holes with fat stacks of cash."

I only need 15.1 WAR - I just want him to set the record and dethrone 1923 Babe Ruth
