  1. Every game is essential for the Sox at this point. Burger hits the cover off the ball at home and Romy has been hot. What are you saving them for? Play them.
  2. Winning is better than losing. We take that won. Lets roll about 5 or 6 more and have some hot time in the city fun.
  3. Exactly. Selling low will not net them much and they don't have anything coming up in the minors. They may as well go with what they have and keep their fingers crossed. Either get hot enough as a group to get back in it or individuals get hot enough to entice some teams into surrendering some young talent. Selling off on 6/1 will clearly be seen as desperation. Teams are not shopping now but will steal from you if you let them. Wait for teams needing additions to come calling. They will.
  4. Now c'mon this is titled Vaughn vs Abreu. It isn't about Benintendi Kimbrel Rodon Pollack and the myriad of other mistakes he has made. In this case he did good. Let him win when he wins. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  5. Seems as though he hasn't been the same since he signed his extension or maybe since the knee injury. It was risky giving him so much money at his age and his physical condition or lack of conditioning. He started strong for them and of course hindsight is 20/20. This is one guy who did better under LaRussa. The father figure during his early career. I liked the signing when they did it. I didn't like the extension so soon. He is not the same player the White Sox originally signed only 2 years ago.
  6. Hahn was right when he said they were "mired in mediocrity". Unfortunately if he said that again he would be right again. I see the White Sox as a bunch of individuals not a team.
  7. Everyone here is free to condemn or defend this franchise. I might not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it. Why can't this team get over the top and finish wins? They are competitive in almost every game. Is it leadership? Experience? Talent? Baseball stupid? It seems to be a different reason most every night. I can't believe other teams draft or assemble more talented or smarter players. individuals yes but a team? Very frustrating to be so close every game but yet in the standings so far away.
  8. Ok, thats gonna happen or not happen. On to today's game. Can young Mr.Kopech reel in his control and composure and toss another gem? Even with that will the defense and baserunning and bullpen not ruin it? Can we muster more than 3 hits? Maybe home cooking will help. Vaughn is in a scary slump. He looks bad for awhile now. I predict him, sheets and Burger key this game. BTW who goes down when Liam is activated?
  9. Whats the alternative? I love MLB and The Sox are my team. I hurt when they lose, but I'm tired of crying in my beer.
  10. I'm not blind I can see even when the team is whole it still has holes. There are plenty of reasons for the bitching and complaining and whining that seems to prevail here. Everyone has a right to post their feelings. None of us can affect the outcome of the games or seasons. Even the best teams win championships rarely. Disappointment is the nature of being a fan. Me? I prefer to have hope rather than gloom and doom. Its simply more fun that way. If people are not enjoying being a fan then perhaps they are finding enjoyment in failure. Whatever floats your boat boys. We have all seen enough baseball to know nothing is settled in May. They have been better lately. I see some reason to believe we could find some fun this summer. GO SOX!
  11. With Hendricks back the team is finally whole. Lets not give up in May. There is still time in this division.
  12. I also remember those pre homer happy years. A different style of ball suited to a different ballpark and ball.
  13. I see the run differential is under 50. 50! At least its trending in the right direction.
  14. Burger at second would give us a perfect chance to complain about bad defense and management playing players out of position.
  15. Right. A split against a home team playing well is acceptable. The Sox are not going to be in first place in 2 weeks. I'm not even sure it would be a good thing. I'd prefer a consistent steady climb over hot and cold streaks. Although I'll admit a 10 game winning steak would be fine just fine.
  16. Frazier in cf Sheets in rf zavala at c Gonzales at 2b Not exactly a gold glove or a murderers row lineup Robert hip is very worrisome. Wasn't it the hip that caused him to miss almost an entire season ?
  17. Hey that's what second division teams do.
  18. I feel too much hype is given to a young player having a hot streak. I hope he becomes a hall of famer but I fear the league will soon remind us all of what he really is. Leave him hitting 6th or 7th where he doesn't have to have the top of the order pressure of performing like a star player. Leave him to play 3rd as a back up and Dh some of the time. Batting him second and playing second may just ruin a promising young power hitter.
  19. Scrap heap reclamation project
