I've been around for some terrible years ( some excellent ones too). I guess maybe the let down of high expectations, kinda like 1984 makes it seem worse. However this year just feels worse. I don't see emotion in the players faces after flailing away at a pitch low and outside. With very few exceptions I get the feeling it's all fine with them. What's the big deal? We are in America and rich. What could be better?

I'm tired of getting my soul crushed year after year. I guess that is just part of being a baseball fan in general and a White Sox fan in particular. At least this frees up my summer.

Yes all true. Also paying less in advance with contracts for still unproven players results in less money paid out, but it also steals motivation. Why work for your first big contract when you already got it? Swing at anything and try to make the highlight reel back home. Move a runner over or bunt? Don't be ridiculous. I'm a star. Stars don't do that. They hit homers.

I think they are free swingers and can't get it through their head not to chase off speed stuff. Why? In order to get noticed back on the island or in South America you had to HIT. Walks will not get you a big league contract. They just can't change, This mentality got them here. MLB pitchers exploit this, Will they learn in time? Some do.
