The carnage continues

I've been around for some terrible years ( some excellent ones too). I guess maybe the let down of high expectations, kinda like 1984 makes it seem worse. However this year just feels worse. I don't see emotion in the players faces after flailing away at a pitch low and outside. With very few exceptions I get the feeling it's all fine with them. What's the big deal? We are in America and rich. What could be better?

I'm tired of getting my soul crushed year after year. I guess that is just part of being a baseball fan in general and a White Sox fan in particular. At least this frees up my summer.

1970 1976....but those teams gave a s%*#. They were just not very good. These guys today are from a background where success is measured differently. Winning is not number one.............. They are boring.

Yes all true. Also paying less in advance with contracts for still unproven players results in less money paid out, but it also steals motivation. Why work for your first big contract when you already got it? Swing at anything and try to make the highlight reel back home. Move a runner over or bunt? Don't be ridiculous. I'm a star. Stars don't do that. They hit homers.

I think they are free swingers and can't get it through their head not to chase off speed stuff. Why? In order to get noticed back on the island or in South America you had to HIT. Walks will not get you a big league contract. They just can't change, This mentality got them here. MLB pitchers exploit this, Will they learn in time? Some do.

The further you get geographically the further away you get emotionally.

Point taken but maybe they simply put them in a position to almost win. Either ya do or ya don't. Everyone has a reason why they didn't. If you don't believe me just ask'em.

If winning a championship is the true litmus test then Rays have ZERO championships and the Dodgers have the same as the white Sox (ONE) since 1988.

The Cubs? Maybe you are on the wrong board. The Cubs won one in 2016. The sox won one in 2005. They got one we got one. The only difference? The White Sox didn't go 108 years between championships. A record that will never be broken.

As long as JR owns the team we must live with his choices. Its a take it or leave it. Getz would probably be next up. Maybe not all bad. A midwestern guy. A former major leaguer. Familiar with the organization on multiple levels. He has been groomed. Remember its not our choice its JR's. Who would he chose that would be better?

OK prepare to rip me apart. Its only April. It looks bad but there is talent here. There have been teams rise from the dead much later in the season. Lets not give up. Yep. So far so good, but let him get around the league once. Seems as if he is already getting more off speed pitches in the dirt. If he chases........well he will have to adjust. Refreshing though to see a real outfielder in right. Left and center too this season.
