  1. The Texas offense is REALLY bad. When you score 4 runs against a team like that, you should win.
  2. While we're picking on Hahn....
  3. you left out the part about assdribble playing on a 4-game suspension appeal.
  4. be me... out with family all day comes home looks forward to watching some Sox baseball pops on the game sees score in 4th inning turns off TV is sad
  5. I'm not gonna get ahead of myself, but damn that Collins HR stroke looked a whole lot like Josh Hamilton
  6. I would imagine the Sox want to stagger the service time thing / callups a bit so that they dont have 14 guys all in their final arb year at the same time.
  7. you are probably right... at his ceiling. Today though he's probably best suited in the 5 hole. I probably should have been more specific with my conjecture.
  8. I'm probably in batshit crazy PlayStation mode here, but a couple bullet points.... Moncada is the best hitter on the team and should hit 3rd. Abreu isn't a 3 hitter. F$%& pride. He is a power bat in decline, and should bat cleanup. Eloy is at his ceiling a prototypical 5 hitter on a great offensive team. We don't have a prototype OBP/Speed leadoff hitter, Anderson needs as many ABs as he can get so he can have the most impact for the team. So... Anderson McCann Moncada Abreu Eloy Everyone else on the team is replacement level or below so who cares who hits where after the 5-hole. I'm gonna go back to my day job now and stop with the armchair baseball managing.
  9. Its a good thing Gio and Eloy are putting on a show tonight because I doubt anyone wants to look at the Charlotte boxscore. Pretty sure Pnoles is on suicide watch.
  10. For as painful as it is to watch Alonso, just remember that Dunn got 450+ ABs in 2011... and hit .159 ONE.FIFTY.NINE. If I am being honest here, I'd rather watch Adam Engel run out two-hoppers to the second baseman than see another Alonso AB. I would hope Skole would get called up at some point to take Alonso's ABs. I can't imagine any scenario where Alonso's agent could file a grievance related to suppressing ABs to avoid a vesting option when the player is terrible and there are multiple guys knocking down the door in AAA. I feel bad for Alonso. He was brought here as a gimmick by a front office that couldn't close the deal on Machado. Alonso is the fat chick at the college house party you flirt with because you know her rommate is hot AF. Sox got burned by their own flame.
  11. Though Verlander pretty much tops all the stat boards, Gio leads the AL in FIP, which means that our sometimes terrible defense can't contain the greatness either.
  12. If Gio keeps this up, we're gonna have to start the Cy Young votes convo.... Amazing story from worst to first for him. He's in another world right now.
  13. I voted what I think to be true, but what I KNOW to be true is much scarier.
  14. The fact that he only won the MVP twice (look at the guys who got more votes) is an absolute travesty.
  15. I really really really hope that there is a logical explanation for why the 3rd best hitter on the team is batting in a lineup slot where he won't see a pitch until possibly the 3rd inning... Please someone tell me there's a reason for that? Maybe TA loves #7 so much he secretly wants to move to the outfield so his jersey number, position number and lineup spot are all #7...
  16. If anything, the "leak" probably gave LA time to reflect on what an absolutely fucking terrible trade (what was rumored to be the return) would have been....
  17. Adam Dunn also didn't have the ominous black cloud emblematic of a failed offseason plan hanging over him like Alonso does.
  18. That's probably the plan, I would imagine. Neither have trade value. Both are sunken costs. Give the kids some looks. #shrug
  19. Palka didn't really get a proper Spring Training as he was hurt. I was really surprised that he didn't start the season on the DL, instead they used an option and let him get ready that way... Whenever they DFA Alonso (I hope soon) Palka will be back.
  20. Covey should really only be allowed to pitch against the Red Sox.
  21. Dude wasn't gonna hit 350 all season. He was due for regression. It will balance itself out.
  22. Fattimir JR with the crispy 402 OPS.
  23. I mean, Ricky isn't a great manager, but at some point guys on the MLB roster need to play the damn game. #FireThePlayers
  24. Someone with photoshop chops should have a go at Ricky's Lineup Dice, just gotta make sure Abreu ALWAYS hits 3rd as to not rattle his fragile psyche
