  1. I agree 100%. Maddon is the only manager I've ever seen put in his Closer in the 7th inning of Game 6 with a 5 run lead (and have him finish the game) when he knew damn well there was a good chance he'd need that Closer the next night. That move almost came back to bite him in the ass as Chapman blew the Save in Game 7.... this is just one example. Maddon was good when the whole Disco Room/petting zoo/magician stuff was working, but that act has grown tiresome. Maddon is good at managing people, but when it comes to Xs and Os, I'd almost rather have Ricky. 🙄 Maddon is on his way out the door up there, and nearly every Cub I know could care less. Come on people, we can do better.
  2. Madrigal will be with the Sox at some point next season. He's the future.
  3. Long time listeners of The SCORE know how some hosts have been telling McNeil that he has to see "Boogie Nights," saying that he'd like it. Mac finally watched it recently, and to say that he didn't like it would be an understatement. 😄 Not a fan of Boogie Nights
  4. At times I wondered if they had their friends call in and purposely sound stupid.
  5. Forums back up, still working on front page.
  6. I must've had the same dream, because I heard it too. Of course I also heard that he'd be activated on June 1, so... IMO, it's 50/50 that he'll be ready by Spring Training.

I just found this on the WSI Facebook page... Anyone know why the WSI forums are down? Not much information in those posts. When this site went down last year, we had regular updates via Facebook.

That forum no longer exists. Last time I was there, I think you were listed as a mod. 😄

Never heard of it. I used to post on the old Scout.com White Sox boards, but everybody abandoned them. Towards the end, I was pretty much talking to myself over there.
  10. Wilber went 2-4 with a walk. Currently hitting ,288 Yolbert is 22, Wilber is 17. Agree. At this point in time, there's no reason for Yolbert to NOT be in the States, unless it's something similar to what kept Robert in the DSL for the entire 2017 season.
  11. I think some organizations have multiple teams in the DSL as well.

So true. 😄 I posted there in 2000 when they were part of Rivals.com, but have only lurked ever since.
  13. +1 Covey had a great story and he showed flashes (last year @ Boston), but I've seen enough. I wish him well.
  14. Any updates on Jake? At one time we were told June 1, then we heard he suffered a heel injury which set him back a week or so. It's June 20, and still nothing.
  15. +1 I'm starting to get a bit concerned here.
  16. This is one of the best posts I have ever seen here. I was born in `76, so while I was technically alive at the time, I have zero memory of it. I know I'm opening myself to ridicule here, but I own a copy of the SNF Soundtrack. Disco is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. That being said, I understand how radio can overplay a song... I've experienced it myself (for example, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston... a song I really liked the first 20 or 30 times I heard it. But after about a week of hearing that damn song 3 or 4 times an hour on most stations I listened to, I wanted to pull my hair out every time it came on. Luckily, I had a few options on the dial where I could escape it completely.). Even KISS (another group of white guys) had a disco album. The Bee Gees had several good songs in the 60s that most people don't even know exist.
  17. I wonder what those numbers will look like next year with that Premium Cubs network?
  18. He hit .342 in 43 games in the DSL in 2017. He hit .094 in 22 games in the AZL in 2018. The Sox have seen him play... I haven't. Numbers don't tell the whole story.
  19. Those are my words exactly. Actually, I was expecting him to be sent back to the DSL this year... he's only 19.
  20. When I was an 18-year-old college freshman, I'd guesstimate that AT LEAST 1/3 (likely more) of my classmates were well in their 20s or 30s. A lot of people serve in the military before going to college... I wish I would've Very few college baseball players get full scholarships. When Gio Gonzalez was drafted in 2004, I believe he had a clause in his contract where the Chicago White Sox would pay for his entire college education if he failed to make the Major Leagues. IMO, that is a HELL of a lot better than getting a PARTIAL scholarship to play baseball in college.
  21. Not a huge fan of all these high school arms... too risky for my liking. JMHO
  22. Not "often," but not unheard of either. Tonight is his 6th game at 1B this season.
  23. Part of me wonders if Wilber Sanchez is related to Yolmer. Sanchez is a fairly common surname, so it's a bit of a longshot. However, the Sox love signing siblings, so... Yolmer and Wilber are both from Venezuela.
  24. Carlos has a great attitude. He's a fighter, not a quitter. I'm not worried about him, but I am VERY worried about his arm.
