Moncada
We cannot have both sides of the argument -- either Moncada is a player with trememdous potential who (for whatever reason) is inexplicably falling apart; or practically everyone aside from Boston overvalued him. Which is it? We can never forget he was the centerpiece of the Chris Sale trade. No matter how we try to make excuses, he was not expected to be performing this poorly 570 abs into his career. Is it just too much to expect immediate success? It'd be a huge morale boost for the entire rebuild to atleast point to ONE example. I honestly fear what these forums become if Kopech and Jimenez struggle immediately. At some point, of all the pieces need to begin fitting together. No more Giolito projects or acceptance of our highly touted players floundering around.

Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
It's not a blow.....as long as no other starting pitcher experiences any significant setback.

6/23 Games
It may come to that, although it'd be embarrassing to the organization if they couldn't fill the top of their rotation with all the prospects they've acquired/developed.

Significant blow to the rebuild. This is exactly why you load up on pitching prospects. If there's one more injury setback among Cease, Hansen, Kopech I'll really start to worry.

2018 Films thread
Watched Hereditary a few days ago and loved it. I already set expectations low coming in due to their marketing campaign and the general reactions I read amongst fans of the genre. Us horror fans are such a fickle group; I feel anything reaching a mainstream audience (especially a movie with critical acclaim) is overly criticized by default. Hereditary isn't scary, but very unnerving. You'll walk out of the theater thinking about it. It's a unique experience and a film I'll probably want to buy on DVD, especially if the rumored hour long deleted scenes are true. Also, don't believe anyone who says however you regard The Witch is the same way you'll feel towards Hereditary. I didn't like The Witch; which would have fared better as a historical piece than a horror film. The horror elements are much more prominent in Hereditary

6/5- Sox at Twins doubleheader, 3:10
Coop seems like that type of guy who wouldn't take too kindly to Stone telling him how to do his job.

Lol I missed that earlier. I'm scared whether or not this may help him. HE HAS THE FIRE WE WANT

I just wonder, the entire rebuild would seemingly go against a KW philosophy right? Why would we believe all of the sudden his opinion overrides everyone elses?

We'll just be very disappointed in the White Sox. Also because Greg may throw in some comments about how our tanking only lead to Kirk Saarloos.

Bart has an even worse K rate. I feel like everyone is overlooking that, focusing on his defensive abilities and position.

The 2018 MLB Draft Thread (Tracker in OP)
Has there recently been a draft pick (especially first round) that most everyone disliked? Courtney Hawkins maybe? Singer would definitely be the next. If we're looking to draft a future Kirk Saarloos, atleadt wait until the later rounds to find a reliever. What about Connor at #4 and Schnell at #46? Underslot Connor (who probably would go in the teens) and throw more at Schnell (Late 1st round) to have two high potential, high ceiling bats. I think it's unlikely, but I'd love the White Sox to take advantage of a deeper draft where value will be found beyons the top names

2018 MLB Draft
Random draft thought: anyone remember the year (2007?) they were showing different draft war-rooms, most filled to the brim with personnel and computers, only to pan to the White Sox feed, where 5-6people were sitting around a table watching a TV lol. I like to believe we'll come a long ways

2018 MLB Draft
I completely agree. I understand drafting BPA, but if Singer and Madrigal are rated on a similar level (which they should be) then they have to draft to positional player. I'd honestly rather take Liberatore over Singer anyway

2018 MLB Draft
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2779285-2018-mlb-mock-draft-brs-final-round-1-picks Interesting take. I wouldn't see Bohm falling that far, though.

Lol they couldnt even stray a little for some variety

It has always appeared Bohm would be their selection, going by the draft snippets almost everywhere

2018 MLB Draft
He slumped and still ended up with .364/504/.1237? Not too bad. I understand the K rate issue though. Honestly, I'd almost hope the White Sox select someone aside from the usual names like Madrigal or Singer. Almost that Schwarber type of pick of, definite first round/maybe slight overreach, that no one saw coming but ultimately they knew better than everyone else. Madrigal and Singer just aren't exciting me enough. The true value in this draft, IMO, is through it's depth. Someone pointed out earlier they wouldn't be surprised if in 5 years we're looking at picks 15-25 as the true winners; and that's what I believe. Nothing immediately stands out. Unless Bohm or Mize falls to us, in which case fucking take them lol I think we can agree that falling flat on this pick is unacceptable. We're no longer picking in the 20's hoping for the best with Broadway or McCulloch. They need to succeed. Yes, and I understand determing success is subjective; there are a lot of factors out of their control. No more 1st round busts.....sounds simple enough!

2018 MLB Draft
A Bohm vs Madrigal vs Singer choice wouldn't make the decision any easier for the "divided" board room. Is the knock against India that his season came out of nowhere? He has outstanding stats, I was surprised.

2018 MLB Draft
I have to agree, unfortunately. Not impressed at all with what I saw. He may be worth it around pick #10, but I expect more value out of our position. I trust the White Sox are leaning more towards Madrigal

2018 MLB Draft
Before this season began he was the projected 1-1 pick. I actually wouldn't be shocked if Philadelpha took him 3rd (Bart and Mize are off the board.)

2018 MLB Draft
Is everyone sour on Singer at #4 because of his (apparent) lack of potential as a front line starter, or because Madrigal represents the best available positional player (assuming Bart and Bohm are gone)? I understand the concern with Singer's projectability; he just doesn't jump out as that frontline starter, like Mize. What is tantalizing about him isn't the overall polish, or how quickly he may be pitching in the majors, but that he's essentially succeeding on TWO plus pitches. If he develops his changeup more OR even a halfway decent curveball, he's Nola. That's what I see when I watch Singer. Madrigal is an equally special talent with his own questions: will he develop ANY power? Does he stay at 2B? Defensively he's GG caliber and a good bet to consistently hit .300 with limited strikeouts. I honestly don't care much about his height, especially since he has already produced consistently at a high, collegiate level. It's a tough decision, and either player is a quality choice. It's unfortunately a much tougher choice than the consensus top three. If the White Sox selected Singer, I'd probably feel more confident in their abilities to harness his potential. Although that alone shouldn't be a deciding reason for drafting him. Overall, I'd pick Madrigal but IF they do go with Singwr I won't join the lynch mob
