Ohh yeah, I forgot the Dbacks gave Calhoun a 2 year deal. Blehhh...don’t really want him around next year, TBH. I agree on Ray. I like him a lot, said as much many times here. I think he’s a great target now, and this offseason as well. But Dbacks can’t expect to get much from him as he’s controlled for a month, he’s been walking the world and has an era approaching 8. Definitely aren’t getting a Stiever type prospect for him, IMO.

I think Arizona would literally give us Robby Ray and Kole Calhoun. They’re both impending FA. Ray has been awful this year, and Calhoun is the meh player he’s always been. I think a Collins and Gonzalez type return would be more than enough for those two. And frankly - id prefer that to trading any of Vaughn/Kopech/Madrigal/Dunning unless we’re getting a long term asset like Woodruff.

Not necessarily. A trade could be agreed to in principle but they’re still working out final details, going over medicals, getting league approval, etc. it’s not that far fetched. I don’t think NSC knows everything going on with the Sox, but it’s pretty obvious he knows someone who feeds him at least some info.

Woah, no chance I am giving up Stiever for Ray and Calhoun. Seems like a super steep package for those two. I agree with the premise tho.

Why do you feel Kopech is part of it? Even if he is, it’s going to be as PTBNL and that speculation and wait for confirmation will be brutal.

40 is the baseline too. Wouldn’t shock me in the least to see Eloy hot 60 bombs in a full healthy season down the road.

I don’t want to trade Dunning. But I would trade Dunning so fast in a deal for Clevinger. Not a soul in Soxland should have a problem with that. Kopech is one that is painful, and would require more thought. But I think you definitely have to do it for Clevinger.

I mean they got 2 solid prospects from a super deep Padres org for Mitch Moreland. That’s a pretty big win.

Disagree. Mendick has been good but he’s more likely to be out of the league in three years than he is the White Sox starting 2B.

Still think my group of players I am willing to move is Stiever, Collins, Rutherford, and other lower level prospects. Really not at all interested in trading Madrigal, Vaughn, Kopech, Dunning, etc. If someone like Reynaldo, I’d be fine moving on at this point as well. I realize that very may not get us Lance Lynn and certainly no one better. That’s fine. This is just the beginning and all of those guys are pieces of this puzzle moving forward. Just don’t feel like right now is right time short of acquiring a big time cost controlled asset. Id be more than fine with something like Ray and Phelps.

I’d rather give up nothing for Robby Ray than mortgage the future for Lynn or Marco fuckin’ Gonzalez.
