  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) Main reason is I have tickets Tuesday so it'd be nice. Haha, fair enough. But I'd honestly keep him there until mid next year unless a need presents itself. Let's save his service time while we do this tank the right way. I don't really want to see him in Chicago this season at this point.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) You know Boston is only team that has/will express interest and you want to create an opening for Moncada I see very little reason to bring Moncada up right now.
  3. Very little Diaz love in this thread. It's been a rough year for him so far but the guy has a heck of an arm and will be a backend of the bullpen guy in a couple years.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:21 PM) It was a reply to rosenthal so you may not have seen it. Said "are you gonna break Frazier to Boston?" Or something. Ahh I see, thanks.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:24 PM) On the other hand has raBBit ever lied to us? What did he say?
  6. What did Rabbit say on twitter about Frazier getting moved? I don't see anything.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 06:45 PM) Pretty sure it works when you get sent down after spring training. AKA you get optioned to AAA once you are on the 40 man roster. Correct
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) I'm like 80% sure he was talking about Sandoval. If he was, our payroll is going to be so low next 2 years, I would strongly consider it if the Red Sox would send a few prospects to make it worth our while. Yah, could be. Dangerous game to play there. But I suppose a Panda + Groome + 20M for Frazier may be of interest to the Sox, but doubt the Red Sox are interested in giving up Groome to save $30M over the next 2.5 years.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 10:43 AM) A part of me wonders if the White Sox were willing to pick up a chunk of his money, what kind of player Boston would be willing to send us to do it. The Sox should be willing to eat nearly all of Frazier's bill to improve the return.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:24 AM) Rodon Shields Holland Gonzalez Pelfrey The rotation of a tanking team. It could most definitely be worse.
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 14, 2017 -> 09:32 AM) Padres were reportedly asking about Clint Frazier and Gleyber Torres...which is not happening Wow.
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) What do to with the current pre-arb players (Davidson, Leury, Yolmer, Engel, e.g.) who, hopefully keep improving, will be an interesting part of the next phase of the rebuilding. Will they be part of the plan, traded, etc.? They should be run out there for the next season and a half and see what they are. Leave the kids in the minors and tank hard through 2018.
  13. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) Mayo says burger, sheets, and skoug will all be top 100 on new list Does MLB pipeline do a mid season list?
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) Mayo says burger, sheets, and skoug will all be top 100 on new list Wow, that is exciting.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:32 PM) The Yankees just acquired Cooper from the Brewers. Don't think they plan to invest heavily into the position. I don't think the Yanks are dumb enough to think that Garrett Cooper's career year in the PCL bandboxes is their answer to their woes. They may not be interested in giving up long term assets for a 1B, but I certainly think they would be interested in the Abreu.
  16. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) I honestly have had few chances to watch, honestly. I took a month off and it was tough. Fair enough. Sox ball is just a put of my nightly routine, and has been since I was kid. I guess I figured most around here were in that same boat.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 04:28 PM) And while I don't disagree that his value may never be higher, this is similar to the Quintana quandary this offseason - his value was never at its highest, but the market was not suitable to move him at the time. Once more suitors came into the picture, even with a slightly lower value, Quintana was able to be sold at the overall highest market value. Currently, there are not many teams who appear willing to trade for a 1B, and, as I alluded to earlier, I don't think the Sox will sell him as a 2-3 WAR 1B, but rather a 4-5 WAR 1B because they intrinsically value the leadership he provides the major league club. Outside teams will likely not include that value into their own trade offer for him, and they won't come to an agreement. I won't rule a trade out, but unless the Sox get a top 50 prospect for him, I don't see them moving him. The Yankees need a 1B bad. He doesn't have an albtross contract. They have a nice system that we are surely familiar with. The match is there.
  18. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Sure Things Robertson Frazier Swarzak Cabrera Spice It Up & Sell High Kahnle A. Garcia Didn't See That Coming Sanchez Abreu I'll keep saying it. Abreu should definitely be floated. I am not trading him for some backend top 100 types, but if we can get a legit return (and we should be able to), we should trade him.
  19. So you guys have gone all season to this point without watching Sox games? I couldn't do it.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:11 PM) Easily Nats. Soto is a top 20 guy, you aren't getting him for a reliever But three of them?
  21. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) The Cubs should've paid Chris Sale price for Jose Quintana is my point. And no, not because of "some silly rivalry", but because of the additional revenue and market share loss the Sox will suffer as a result of this trade, all of which is going to go directly to the Cubs. ....for now.....
  22. So we just assuming we'll see Saladino and Gonzalez called up tomorrow for Willy and Q's spots?
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) He is literally all power and nothing else. Reminds me alot of Telvin Nash currently. But hey.. here's hoping his hit tool comes through. Some of those scouting reports say he is a pretty good defensive 3B. Not sure why he's played so little of it in the minors.
  24. QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:32 PM) My second thought. Does anyone ever think about that rumored December three team trade involving the Pirates, Yankees and White Sox? I just wonder was Aaron Judge a second piece to that deal? Damn what could have been. Hahn said that this deal was the best deal he has been offered for Q. Period. Guessing that means Judge wasn't in the Yanks deal that fell apart.
  25. QUOTE (kwill @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 01:31 PM) I look at the White Sox Pitching Prospects as 2 waves 2017/2018 1. Lopez 2. Kopech 3. Giolito 4. Guerrero 5. Stephens 2018/2019 1.Dunning 2.Hansen 3.Cease 4.Flores I would expect the White Sox to add one more to this group by the July 31st deadline. Also, Put me in the category that Kahlne gets traded for a good package now. I think with what happend to Jones you realize how quickly value could evaporate. Many of us thought that Jones could have equal value to Robertson. I'd put Kopech in the 18/19 pool. There is zero change we see him in 17, and I'd say its unlikely we see him in 18.
