From what I can tell, Wilfred Veras hit for the cycle tonight in the ACL.

Sox now have one remaining player from their first 6 picks in the 2018 draft -- Stiever, who was shelled again tonight. Hope remains for Bilous, Davis Martin, Luke Schilling, Romy Gonzalez, Lane Ramsey, and I guess Cabera Weaver, but he hasn't shown much yet.

Ump has been pretty horrible all game. Inconsistent, mostly huge strike zone.

Eloy has not hit well as a dh in a small sample size in his career. 0 hits so far this year. A lot of guys struggle with that transition, and an unhappy hitter may be an unproductive hitter. Once he is healthy, I hope he plays left field most of the time because we need his bat.

Here are some guys you could imagine the Sox could release: Burdi, Adolfo, Gonzalez, Rutherford, Lamb. Then after the season, they have a lot of free agents: Rodon, Lamb, Goodwin, Hamilton, Leury Garcia, Hernandez (option), Kimbrel (option). Adolfo is out of options, neither Rutherford nor Gonzalez are big impact players (solid chance you could slide them through). Lot of options moving forward.

Hamilton's mystery "injury" appeared for a reason. He's probably going to be miraculously healed September 1. Robert will take his spot, then it's a choice between Lamb and Sheets. I predict LaRussa chooses Lamb and sends Sheets down, but I've been surprised before.
