Bonemer did say that he kinda refused to adjust his mechanics downward to hit the 80 mph offerings of Lansing area teens wrapping up their baseball careers. Maybe that explains it. What has stood out to me is his consistency and maturity. He was the same dude last week as he was during his first week when he was getting robbed like every third at bat. He has a good understanding of the zone and he hits the ball hard. He is very promising.

Cannon sucking is a real blow to their ability to get through games all week. They have a bunch of starters who go 5 innings every time out, then Cannon gives you 3-4. No one has that many long relievers. I predict Tyler Gilbert gonna have to wear it today.

Braden Montgomery’s arm is a 70 or maybe higher. He has an absolute cannon. Held a runner on a single to center by throwing a pea chest high to the catcher. One of the better outfield arms in all of baseball. Bonemer has looked very good in the field. Strong arm. No doubt he stays on the left side. I think he’s made one error this year. Fast runner, so he currently has plenty of range but he is a huge guy, so I can see why people say he may not profile there. They both are what it looks like. Good scouting by the Sox.

Huh. Iriarte has looked like crap every time out this year. There’s very little on his fastball and his command has been awful. Of the two, Nastrini has been better and he’s on the 40 man too. This would be a head scratcher, especially since they need someone in that spot moving forward. I would still do Vasil or B. Wilson, but maybe this is with an eye to the long term.

My thought is that Braden Montgomery looks like a stud. Bonemer looks just as good or better. That can’t be a bad thing. Teel is more of a decent regular, maybe with occasional all star potential. He is not as athletically gifted as those other guys.

Zavala looks way better. Just got robbed with the bases loaded. He is being more aggressive at the plate, which he needed. 1-3 today but is contacting the ball. 6-2 W-S

I disagree. High school player expected to be a top round pick who was up and down in his senior year looking this good is only for the good. Tools wise Bonemer > Montgomery > Teel, so having the guy with the loudest tools thrive is all good. I love my looks at Braden, btw. But the question with Bonemer was the swing. High school players jump up ranking in low A all the time. Hard for a college guy to do that, but again, Bonemer is 19 and really looks like he belongs.

Kanny just so good offensively. 6 base runners already in 1.2. 2 bb for Bonemer. By the all star break, he may be Sox top prospect. Braden Montgomery bb and a great throw from cf so far. They lead 2-1. Coul’ve scored more, but they have a great team approach.
