I don't know, they have a history of either signing guys to deals before Opening Day or putting them on the roster day 1 like Vaughn. Vaughn was making that 2021 opening day roster regardless of the Eloy injury. Mercedes was the one who benefited from that injury. The injury is what opened the door for Vaughn to play LF instead of DH/1B only.

Coming back to this, also figure out if he needs surgery or something and get that done and let him heal. Waiting weeks and weeks and weeks has clearly not been helping.
