  1. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 06:44 AM) Team is not nearly bad enough to get into the Beer mix as it stands today. Agreed. I think we are outside to top 5 picks as of right now.
  2. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 08:26 AM) I agree That Padres rotation is beyond awful. That team is going to get run train on by the MLB. I would go so far as to say our AAA rotation is significantly better than their mlb rotation. Seriously. They are probably looking at a 50-112 record. Over/under I'm putting at 52.5 wins.
  3. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) Sounds like a deep package you guys are drooling over. What are the odds that package satisfies us fans for the long haul. Who would you bet to be the Allstar that comes closest to mathing Q-level WAR? High possibility none of them do but this club is in a position to take that risk.
  4. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 04:59 PM) For real. You just gotta mail it to Texas. And if you are a hawk-hater, please don't smash it to pieces out of spite I won't lol
  5. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 04:21 PM) "For those of you wishing tommy john upon me right now: I hope you dont get carpel tunnel at your desk job" -- @miachaelkopech5 Lol that's great. And seriously, why do people wish injury onto players?
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) Aside from stats, Guerrero is one of those players that is just "hall-worthy" for how memorable they were. Laser throws from outfield, golf swing home runs. He was just awesome. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 03:45 PM) Vladimir Guerrero is the only player I've ever seen turn an intentional walk into a double. They were trying to pitch around him, and the pitcher threw the ball eye high and over the left handed batter's box, but Guerrero slapped it down the right field line for a double. He's also the only player I've ever seen hit a home run off of a ball that bounced before it got to home plate. Vlad was one of my favorite players ever growing up.
  7. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 03:24 PM) Shiiiiit. I'll already give somebody on here $100 bucks to go get me one. Deal.
  8. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) If the Marlins suck by the deadline and decide to sell - anyone think RH tries to trade for Stanton? And give up a good chunk of what we just received/will receive? Pass.
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) The #Astros, in need for a starter, remain engaged with #WhiteSox for Jose Quintana, #Rays for Chris Archer and #Athletics for Sonny Gray. https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/821457595886141441 Yaaaaaaaaaaawn. Edit: It's literally the same report every few days lol "Team X (Pirates, Astros, or Yankees) still talking to Sox about Quintana."
  10. I don't know if its his attitude so much. Based on the social media I've seen, he kinda comes off as a tool. But then again, anyone 21 or younger seems to in some way. I don't really care as long he can pitch.
  11. Weird hearing Bernstein and Goff together. I think this is actually better than Boers and Bernstein.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Adderall. A PED in recovery, endurance and focus. Thanks for clearing that up. I knew it was something but didn't know what.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 10:49 AM) This guy is like Noah Syndergaard on steroids. Good god. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) Hopefully not literally. Well, didn't he already have a PED suspension of some sort? haha
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 08:02 AM) Is Q Buehrle with some velocity? Yes.
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 07:43 PM) So will this thread be locked before the Sox trade Q ? Absolutely
  16. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) This... unless you're a Mariners fan. True. Mariners are trying to save the offseason.
  17. Take out the 2 Sox moves, and this is the lamest off season I think I've ever experienced.
  18. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 04:00 PM) Indians, Rangers, Dodgers, Blue Jays...if someone comes along who is willing to gut their farm entirely they could probably get Quintana. I thought about the Dodgers as well if we end up keeping Q. The Dodgers could possibly need another SP whether it be because of an injury or just because it never hurts to add a guy like Q to improve your playoff/world series chances. Edit: honestly, as of now, it seems like their team is the same one as the one that got knocked out in the NLCS.
  19. QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) Did anyone read my entire post? You know, the one where I said that if they believe he is going to be an ace then Hahn should wait for him to prove it before trading him with 2-3 years of control left? And if they think his control problems say otherwise then they should move him now while that "possibility" is still there, and he does not have a track record of solid but unspectacular performance? I read it and defended you haha I think the front office believes he will develop and he will either lead the rotation his last year or two (IF the rebuild is working) or he will get trades with a couple years left.
  20. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 02:54 PM) If you believe he's going to be an ace, then you wait until he's an ace to trade him, not trade him now for other prospects with similar amount of control/risk. There's really no good reason to trade him unless you're very bearish on him. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) Rodon would not return nearly the same level of prospects as Quintana would. Sox will keep Rodon and look to build around him. He is still under team control for five more seasons. He wasn't suggesting to trade him now, guys.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 02:06 PM) I think they'll do that sort of signing but my guess is jason Hammel, who I believe we've heard wants to stay in Chicago Area anyway. He actually said that? After being cut by the Cubs, that would basically mean he wants to play for the Sox lol
  22. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) They could really use a platoon LF couldn't they...maybe Melkster. Platoon with Upton would make sense. Would Bautista stay in RF or could he potentially be getting time at 1B and DH when Morales is out of the lineup? I know they also signed Steve Pearce who makes sense as a platoon option somewhere as well.
  23. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 01:55 PM) Especially in division I meant to include that in that last second but re-reading it now, the sentence is structured horribly lol
  24. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 09:35 PM) I hope saladino gets all the playing time at 2B before Moncada. Lawrie does nothing for me, especially now that we are rebuilding. Agreed.
  25. A's won't sell him discounted after an injury plagued year. His value is at its lowest. And to try to get a team from your own division to trade you a starter, it should take more. There are other alternatives to Q like Archer and Gray, but those 2 are coming off down years where it wouldn't be wise to trade them now. They will hold onto them and let them rebuild value.
