  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) It's funny, LaRoche a guy who had known to be declining against lefties got plenty of AB's .Now Morneau who had hit lefties decently the last few years sits against them. The common denominator? Robin.
  2. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) Where are the established Major Leaguers in that proposed deal? How do you trade Sale for a bunch of prospects? Too many top prospects fail to pan out. McCullers would plug into rotation but I get your point. I just don't see any team giving up young controllable position players (Seager, Bogaerts, etc) who are important pieces to these contenders.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Was this a prediction because there is nothing else to talk about on a Monday morning? Or a prediction based on solid information they have from sources? Probably nothing else to talk about.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Bregman, Reed, and McCullers at the VERY least. Yep this is a start.
  5. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Why not BLOW IT UP???!!! We've never tried it, can't be worse than the last few years of this crap. Because Jerry.
  6. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) Matt Davidson Or Lawrie at third and Saladino at second (for the rest of this season anyway).
  7. 2 weeks from tomorrow is the deadline. Let's see how bad or good the next 10 days are.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) Every lefty has reached Shuck?
  9. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Hey, we may have a catcher! Lets hope.
  10. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) It's a wasted Sale start when we aren't going to score any runs. You can't win any games getting shutout. Until this team decides to stop putting up goose eggs, he might as well take an extended break. Good point. If we don't score a single run in any of these losses, it would still be a loss with or without Sale.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) You need a clause in there. "They've done a good job since date x" or something like that. They did a terrible job trying to build a competitive team last year and now they're stuck with a couple more years of rebuilding because of how terrible that job was. So far they're making reasonable moves in trying to recover from their self-made debacle. That's what I mean . Tried to build a contender (as we tried) but did a good job of changing the direction and have brought in good young talent.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Mr. Hindsight who likes to list people who are bad at their jobs and claims he has all the good ideas came up with this one the Braves would certainly not trade Inciarte straight up for Tim Anderson...not to mention the fact we'd suddenly have no SS or C of the future, essentially the two most important positions on the diamond. Remember....the Sox should have signed Desmond after the draft!
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) Just tuned in. Man this is discouraging. Back to the Last of Us. Blow this s*** team up. Send them all out I don't care because this isn't working. Haven't scored in 20 innings. f*** this team Last of Us...great game! Played the hell out of it on. Ps3 and just picked it up on ps4 (trying to be done with my ps3).
  14. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 01:53 AM) This is one of the better trades that I have seen recently. Preller basically traded a platoon player (in Alonso) for one of top 15 prospects in all of baseball. While San Diego has a long way to go to being respectable, they have injected some serious talent into their system the past 6 months. Agreed. They get a lot of flack but I think they've done a good job. Got more for Kimbrel than what they gave up (because they took on Upton), got draft picks for Kennedy and Justin Upton, could potentially get something for Melvin Upton and Matt Kemp. Plus they've traded some bullpen pieces.
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Ventura said Morneau would face primarily right-handers at the outset, but that of course can change https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/754106412439965696 Wtf? Play him until he shows he can't hit lefties.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 06:08 PM) Don't you actually have to be on base to create havoc? Burns doesn't get on base. Yeah I don't get why people would want to make the offense worse.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) Source? We'd have to send someone down to make that happen. Kahnle
  18. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 10:51 PM) Bottom line is whether they're a few under or right at 81 wins...It's not enough. I hate that Shields trade more and more every day. We needed a bat EVERY DAY....NOT A 34 y/o 1 out of 5 who we can argue over...did he go over a "+" inning in a loss? And he's $22M for 2 more f***ing years. Clownshoes. Trading for James Shields is not preventing them from acquiring a bat lol Johnson and Tatis wouldn't be enough to bring in a big enough bat to help this team.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) Fiers is getting away with some terrible pitches. Bad luck so far Story of the 2016 offense.
  20. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) I know what he meant, I was just giving him s*** Welp there you go then.
  21. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 06:04 PM) Hmm, not sure how that's relevant to what I said at all I think he thinks they're playing in Chicago this weekend so it is relevant to what you said very much.
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 06:02 PM) Oh how I wish I lived in Chicago right now The game is in Houston...
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) They have control of him for a long time. No need to lock him up yet. Exactly. What's the rush?
  24. Yeah I've gotten to the point where I'd rather Davidson. And I've been anti-Davidson for probably over a year now.
