White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
It means you let one man change your fandom, which is usually something passed down from family, friends, community. I don’t watch the Sox anymore, and don’t see that changing over the next few years. Not until they give me a reason to watch. The difference is, Jerry Reinsdorf, or Bill Wirtz, aren’t what I was raised to love, or be a fan of. I wasn’t raised to root for the owner. When Bill Wirtz died, the Blackhawks franchise didn’t. Quite the opposite actually. And Jerry Reinsdorf isn’t going to make me totally abandon the White Sox, I’m just not going to support them while he’s the owner. You do you, but if you were a Blackhawks fan previously, and you removed yourself because of a decision Bill Wirtz made in 1999, missing out on 3 Stanley Cups in the 2010’s, with new ownership…seems silly.

White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
I got to enjoy three Stanley Cups and a modern day dynasty, while you sat pouting about a decision made 40 years ago from a long dead owner. You showed them!

White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
Hull left the Blackhawks after the 71 season. They finished first in their conference in 72, 75, 77, 78, 79, 82, 85, 89, 90, 92 (and went to the SC Finals.) Then the dark ages hit, and when a new owner took over, everything changed. Sounds familiar!

What's the point?
Said it last year, said it this year, and will say it again next year: None of this matters until JR dies. We’re stuck in baseball purgatory. No one wants to accept it, it’s a simple answer with no nuance, but it’s not a subjective opinion at this point. Until he dies, it’s just the same old song and dance. And sure maybe they get out of this free fall in a couple of years, but they’ll never be a true contender under Jerry. He has no interest in making that effort, internally they are SO FAR behind other franchises that actually invest in player development and technology…it’s all just a waste of time until new ownership arrives.

Fire Pedro Grifol
I’m serious when I say this may be the most shocking thing he’s said during his tenure with the Sox. You’re 15-47, have lost 13 straight and just blew two games against the Cubs, and you’re going to say how proud you are of the team? Without question one of the most insane quotes I’ve ever seen

Padres into Garret Crochet
I don't see how Crochet makes sense for a team at the deadline. I mean, more power to them, but he's at 70 IP for the year. He threw 13 innings in 2023 and zero in 2022. I would think going over 115/120 IP for 2024 seems like you're getting into dangerous territory. Seems like it would make much more sense to acquire him in the offseason, but if someone wants to go all-in on him, cool.

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
This is correct. He's gone about this incredibly wrong. He wanted to use the forced tagline of "Southside, Stand up!" which is fine, whatever...but by doing it, calling out a neighborhood/location, you're basically speaking for that group. If you don't come off as genuine and understanding the culture, history...it isn't going to work. And it hasn't. But also in his defense, if this team was 40-15, people would be in love with him. He got dealt a shitty hand, but he's made the hand worse.

June 2nd Chicago White Sox @ Milwaukee Brewers GDT
Did you just double down and pull out the “well he started it?!?” card? My three year old stopped doing that six months ago. Well played all around.

The Death March Moves to Milwaukee: 5/31 Sox @ Brew Crew 7:10 CDT
I’ve watched about 4 innings this season, legit. Given I’ve been on this site for 20 years (wtf) I’ll never stop following the team, but I can’t wrap my head around actually watching. Way too many other things to enjoy than a group of players on a road to nowhere

I know the Sox historically have been way behind the times with tech/training, this goes back decades. I have to think that plays a role. And to be clear, there have been success stories. Thome & Dye come to mind right away, veterans that basically got better when they got here. But that was a LONG time ago. I'm probably missing someone, but when was the last FA signing that really delivered?

But what about a guy like Benintendi? Wasn’t a scrap heap guy, in somewhat demand..and he’s still only 29. And is putting up a historically bad season. I’m sorry, but if he’s on the Yankees, I truly don’t think he’s batting .189 Guys like Jeff Keppinger, Nick Swisher, Todd Frazier, Adam Dunn (dude hit .159 in 496 PA’s in 2011 lol) and the list goes on and on and on. These are guys that weren’t on their last legs, had good success where they came from, and just are total trash when they arrive. I don’t get it.

I would really love to speak to some current/former MLB players to get a better understanding of how much they feel coaching makes a difference. I used to feel that established MLB players really didn't need a hitting coach, they know what has made them successful, it's not a secret, but I dropped that belief a few years ago. Time and time again, we've seen the Sox sign veterans, guys that aren't totally washed, come to the South Side and just absolutely fall apart. Why? Is it the culture? Is it the coaching? It's happened too many times for it to be a coincidence.

Angel Hernandez retiring
This premise that the majority of baseball fans are even aware that Angel Hernandez filed a lawsuit is crazy, let alone that being the reason, not the crazy blown calls, are the reason he is a target of ridicule.

Angel Hernandez retiring
I mean, this is shockingly not accurate

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
You don't see it because you're classifying it as "targeting" and a "feud" I don't know what The Score said, so I can't comment on what was said leading up to anything. I do know what 1000 said, and it was first brought up after he made the "haters" comment. They asked him to clarify what he meant. He declined. Then they got on him for screwing up the pronunciation of Veeck, and even mentioned this would be a non-story if the haters comment wasn't made, but now there is more attention on him. Then everything went away for a few weeks. Until Schriffren decided to re-ignite the "feud" I've spent too much time discussing this very stupid situation. The last thing I'll say on this is I have a feeling by 2030, John Schriffen is going to be a decent trivia question for hardcore fans that remember who was only here for one year after Benetti left...

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
I wouldn’t classify it as a “reward” and I don’t think the sports radio group would consider it a reward either. It’s about ending the conversation. You do that, by having a conversation. It benefits Schiffren by clearing the air, moving on from it. He decided not to do that, then take another swipe with his “radio losers” comment He clearly wants the heat at this point. Otherwise he doesn’t make the radio losers remark. He was trolling at that point.
