Milwaukee signs Eric Thames
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 01:35 PM) You're trolling right? Do you remember watching him play? The guy was garbage. Essentially a carbon copy of Avisail Garcia. A couple good years against what is the equivalent of low level MiLB is not going to change that. Why would I be trolling? The KBO, while more hitter friendly than MLB, isn't t-ball. He put up MVP numbers there. Comparing him from 5 years ago to now is ridiculous. A 25 year old with no experience and a 30 year old with plenty of experience are completely different entities. He is worth the $5 million a year gamble and it wouldn't surprise me if he put up really good numbers in Milwaukee. He was the perfect fit for the Sox and they passed on him.

Cespedes back to Mets - 4 years, $110 mil
DAAAAAAAANG. That's a lot more than I thought he'd get.

Milwaukee signs Eric Thames
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 10:15 AM) We are talking about DH at bats. Avi may be our DH of future but don't really care if we decide he's done. We will need some major league players on the team next year. This. Avi is what he is and I don't think Coats is anything more than a 4th outfielder. I'd like to give Liriano a shot, but there definitely would have been a spot for Thames as well.

Milwaukee signs Eric Thames
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) A 30 year old who strikes out a ton and doesn't walk at all? Why? His K and BB numbers were pretty good in Korea, although that league is much easier to hit in. I still wish the Sox would've taken a chance on him though. He's the exact type of player that would be great in a rebuild.

God f***ing damn. I wanted the Sox to sign him so badly.

White Sox waiting for bigger offers on Sale
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 29, 2016 -> 06:52 AM) I'm hoping for a Benintendi and Devers package or a Bregman package. Agreed. Moncada is nice and all but I'd definitely prefer Benintendi over him if I was given the choice. Devers would be a great get as well.

Rumor: Obama will be part owner within 3 years
QUOTE (drowninginflame @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) Folks - keep it about baseball, not your political beefs. That's what arguing on Facebook is for. Also, as far-fetched as the concept is, it's a fantastic ploy - if it was a reality, that gives people reason to take interest in the team on a variety of levels. This isn't just some rich guy buying in to stroke his inflated ego, it's a die hard fan, who happened to be president supporting culture and doing what most dream of. If that isn't a mile marker of what you'd want to see in ownership, you might want to re-consider your opinions on what's best for the team in the long run. Not sure I would consider him a die hard fan. He didn't even know the name of the stadium and I doubt he can name more than a player or two that's currently on the team. I'm not opposed to the idea, but it's not like he's a huge fan or anything.

Yankees Release RHP Eovaldi but not that interesting b/c had TJS
Sign him to a backloaded 2 or 3 year deal with tons of incentives. There's no risk and the reward is pretty intriguing.

White Sox waiting for bigger offers on Sale
Watch them wait for weeks and then not pull the trigger on anything. That would be so typical.
-
Winter Meeting Poll
Sale will be traded in approximately 30,000 minutes.

White Sox looking to deal Robertson
QUOTE (WBWSF @ Nov 28, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) 1) I would trade Robertson for Puig in a heartbeat. 2) Then sign Cespedes. 3) Keep Sale and Quintana and see how 2017 plays out. I don't see how that plan could possibly work because the bullpen would flat out suck.

SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Urias better be coming back regardless. This is Chris Sale we're talking about trading. Even if Sale was making 20+ mil anually the next 3 seasons, Urias better be coming back. Agreed...and if the Dodgers are set on not moving Urias, then the Sox should be able to clean out the rest of their system.

SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Well of course you wouldn't, you don't have to sign the paychecks. Would it kill you to not be a condescending douche for once? You know what I meant. The Sox still have to field a team next year whether they rebuild or not, and adding an expensive player or two wouldn't be the end of the world IMO if more prospects with potential were also added to the deal because of the inclusion of said expensive player.

SOURCE: 2 horse race between Dodgers and Astros
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 27, 2016 -> 11:32 AM) Unless we get one of their starters back in a deal like Ryu or McCarthy I definitely wouldn't mind taking on a bigger contract in a Sale trade if more prospects were coming back as a result at the same time.

Would you guys prefer Bregman or Springer as the headliner?

Collins enjoys time in AFL
This guy is going to be a flat out stud in a few years if the Sox don't rush him. Hopefully he debuts in 2018 at the earliest.

Sox could try to attach Shields to Sale trade
Only the White Sox would take the most valuable asset on the market and severely hurt his appeal by wanting to attach a highly paid scrub along with him. LMAO. What a joke.

Sox could try to attach Shields to Sale trade
This is ridiculous. I can't believe what I'm reading.

Bleacher Report: Jose Quintana, not Chris Sale, is the most valuable o
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 23, 2016 -> 06:44 AM) Exactly. They don't need to trade all right now. I think they should trade Sale, Jones, Frazier, and Melky at a minimum. Maybe Abreu and Q too if they get a good offer.

Rangers prospect facing charges
I typically agree with raBBit on just about everything, but I'm not sure how anyone can think this is ok in any sense of the word. It's sickening and these guys need to be punished for it. Otherwise it'll be a chain reaction and it'll happen again.

An Insider Look into Actual Fictious Trade Talks
QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) About 47 teams want him. Welcome to the prom, I'm the queen. Don't like how John Danks preformed last year and Kenny blames you. Gallo is going to be an annual 450 strike out risk. You'll have to do better than that. How about we give you Abreu for Mazara and Profar thou. Excuse me, my tent is being pitched. -Rick Hahn I'm the king, bro. It ain't my fault your scouts suck balls. Gallo is the best thing since sliced bread. The Sox haven't had a guy this powerful since Joe Borchard. Mazara, Gallo, Profar, Mendez, and Taveras for Sale. Just do it. Jon
