  1. That is not the case here with JR. The team lost 121 games in 2024 and he did nothing to improve the team this past off season. It doesn't say much for his character. He's laughing all the way to the bank with this teams low payroll. He hasn't given any indication that he wants to improve the team.
  2. Assuming Ishbia wants to buy the rest of the White Sox stock and will pay for the new stadium, I would hope JR has the decency to sell the team to him. The sooner the better.
  3. I take it that the game plan is to trade some of their pitching for some hitters.
  4. I'm sure the team has tried numerous things to get Luis Robert Jr hitting again. Nothing has worked. It seems to me that he had more success as a hitter when he was just know as Luis Robert. Perhaps he should drop the Jr from his name.
  5. I read elsewhere that a new White Sox stadium at the 78 location would only cost $400 million. If that is accurate I would think it would be built there.
  6. Obviously Elko doesn't fit into the plans of the White Sox.
  7. I really wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
  8. Has it dawned on you that this organization doesn't care if it keeps losing games? The team lost 121 games last year and did nothing to improve the team this past off season. All they had to do is spend some money on some hitters and this team wouldn't be 3-15 in one run games. The main objective for this ownership is to get the payroll as low as possible.
  9. Ozzie said changes are coming this week, maybe tomorrow. Perhaps Teel and Elko will be brought up.
  10. Instead of Elko at first base and Vargas at third base the team has Rojas at third base and Vargas at first base. I assumed when Elko was brought up he would be given a decent chance to see what he could produce. That wasn't the case. I remember when he hit a home run in one of the games and then was pinched hit for the nest time up. Perhaps Getz wants to give Rojas a chance after spending $3. 5 million on his contract.
  11. You have Rojas on the team because Getz signed him to a 3.5 million dollar contract.
  12. Can't help but wonder what the White Sox are going to do with Robert Jr. He looks like he couldn't hit me.I know he can't be sent down to the minors without his permission. Maybe he might agree to that. All I know is he doesn't look like a MLB hitter anymore.
  13. Teel and Elko are hitting in the minors. Perhaps they might be called up sooner rather than later. What harm would there be in bringing them up?
  14. The Illinois legislature came up with their budget bill yesterday. Nothing was done about the stadium situation for either the Bears or White Sox. What happens now, if anything? I can't see the Bears paying $5 billion dollars for a new stadium. They're not exactly known for spending money. Unless the Ishbia family pays for a new White Sox stadium I certainly can"t see JR paying for a new stadium. Maybe both teams will just stay at their present stadiums.
  15. The White Sox are now 3-14 in one run games.
  16. Seems like Elko isn't in the plans of the team. I remember when he hit a home run in a game recently and the next time up he was pinch hit for. Looking back at it i can't figure out why Elko was even called up from the minors. I hope he gets traded to some team and is given a chance to play every day.
  17. I'm old enough to remember when the team drew less than 500,000 in 1970. Considering this will probably be another 100 loss season i don't think an attendance of 1.4 million is so bad.
  18. The White Sox will probably draw what they did in 2024, somewhere around 1.4 million fans. Not a bad number considering everything. It's still a decent place to go see a game. Their tickets are priced for the average fan and you won't go broke going there like you do at Wrigley Field. The parking is great. The food is great and this years promotions/giveaways are tremendous. All they need now is a good team.
  19. If the Governor of Illinois wants to help out the Bears financially it will be done. The Democrats have a super majority in this state. I'm convinced that the Governor of Illinois will help the Bears with money for the new stadium. I don't think there is anyway the Bears will pay $5 billion dollars for a stadium. How this will affect the White Sox proposed new stadium, I don't know.
  20. From what I know the Ishbia brothers now own half of the White Sox stock. I take it that they are going to be the next White Sox owners someday. You mention how JR uses O.P.M. (other peoples money). I would think the only way JR would put money into a new stadium is with money from the Ishbia brothers.(O.P.M.) JR won't put a cent of his own money towards a new stadium. If the Ishbia brothers put money towards a new stadium, hopefully they will take over the team also.
  21. He might not be the bombing savior but all I'm saying is he deserves a chance. I'm tired of seeing Taylor , Rojas and some of their other players not produce..
  22. You've posted in the past how you're not a fan of so called rebuilds. I happen to agree with you. What difference is there between rebuilding and losing on purpose? This rebuilding/losing on purchase is just a scam. The rebuild=low payroll and more money for the owner. This team lacks power hitters. Tim Elko who has power was brought up for a few games and hit 3 home runs. He was then sent down again. Is anybody going to tell me this isn't losing on purpose?
  23. Tim Elko would be a better choice if you want to add power.
  24. This handling of Elko has to be one of the strangest things I've seen. I take it Elko doesn't fit into the future of the team. Yet we are subjected to seeing Taylor, Rojas and Palacios every day in the lineup. Are these 3 players part of the teams future? Looking back at this Elko situation I can't understand why they called him up for a few days.
  25. I read a couple days ago that one of the politicians told the Bears to try and get together with the White Sox in terms of 2 new stadiums. The Bears didn't do that. I've read that the new Bears stadium will cost $5 Billion dollars. If that's true does anybody really think that the Bears are going to come up with that type of money? It wouldn't surprise me if they stayed at their present stadium. Its been really quiet about a new White Sox stadium.
