  1. No, but he was a symbol of the problem. The Sox hired a crony when they should have done an extensive search for a manager. La Russa should have had the sense not to take the job. It would have helped if he stayed awake in the dugout.
  2. I don't know what happened to the guy either, but it's time to cut him loose. Pay him for the rest of the season and buy out his option and say good-bye. They're going to lose more than 100 games with him anyway.
  3. Another one of those boring games with Schriffen telling us how competitive the Sox are. Eloy doesn't belong on the field right now.
  4. This week: 5 games, 4 losses, a total of 11 runs scored. At first, I thought it was a five-game losing streak, because I lost track of the win.
  5. When was the last time the Sox had a come from behind win? They've done it once, haven' t they?
  6. This game was about as exciting as a Sox game telecast and post-game show. Let's hear it one more time. The Sox lost because they didn't get any breaks.
  7. Had the greatest overall talent. Could do everything and did it great. No one has matched him since.
  8. There have been more than several disasters. Grifol is not going anywhere. Won't make much if a difference if he did.
  9. An oncoming train has already hit us, and it has flattened us like a pancake. Like a pancake, it has flattened us.
  10. This is too bad. Hoped he'd play long enough to get 1,000 RBIs. Too bad the Sox don't have more like him.
  11. Just like many things that don't change. That is what is discouraging. My point is firing Grifol just to replace him with another one like him doesn't do much good.
  12. Firing Grifol is only part of the solution. Then the Sox need to do a real search, do real interviews and chose an experienced baseball man. Then let him pick his own coaching staff. Then let him do his job. Also, make sure he has no past connection to the Sox. Do things right for a change.
  13. I am going to spare myself the aggravation by not watching the game.
  14. It is hard to take this team seriously.
  15. And just another non-ending reason this team has no direction. Over 40 years of this nonsense.
  16. It is about time that JR teat the manager's job as a professional position. This a major league team for god's sake. With his stupid recent hires, JR only shows he has no interest in winning. It is about time the team get a real baseball man in this job. And make sure he is paid right.
  17. I am done with the rebuilds, too. The team has gotten nowhere. As far as getting a "haul" for Robert: If we think trading Robert is a good idea because he is injury prone, why should anyone else give a "haul" for him? I am tired of the tanking that just gives JR an excuse for not spending on free agents.
  18. What does Schriffen know about the South Side?
  19. Right. What is the point? Okay, so fire Grifol. Who is going to fire JR? The organization is a joke from top to bottom. And I don't care what is happening in the farm system.
  20. We should remember Kopech's first major league appearance was in 2018. Chuck Garfien was telling us he was the franchise savior. We are still waiting for that to happen. George Steinbrenner would have had several nervous breakdowns by now. A U-haul would have been needed to carry out all the people he would have fired. JR doesn't seem affected.
  21. I didn't watch last night's game, and I won't watch this one. It's like the policeman says, "Go on home. There's nothing to see here."
  22. Ozzie could help some, but he's not worth it. Too much baggage. Replacing manager would be just the start. Organization is falling apart.
