  1. Katz or no Katz, the Kopech situation was botched from the start. Maybe he can develop, but he always had control problems. Still needs to learn to be a pitcher, and in reality, he hasn't pitched all that much.
  2. Seven runs in three games-fortunate to win one. The offense still hasn't shown up.
  3. Great play by Gavin. Made a nice catch last night. too. In anything, this guy works at being a better player.
  4. It is true that taking the season series from the Astros doesn't mean much. For one thing, Houston has problems of their own. Secondly, things just look bleak. Hard to find hope for the 2023 season.
  5. One thing they have to do is bring in the man from third with less than two outs. They are so horrible at that.
  6. Should have scored more but Cease looked good. Nice HR by Robert. That man should not be under-achieving.
  7. Yes, they should have won 6 or 7-1. AJ said there is no ceiling on Luis. He's right.
  8. I just tune out goofballs who complain about attendance. It is an old refrain, and anyone who complains about it is a crybaby. Blaming the fans is an old practice. I'll remember that the next time Sheets drops a fly ball in right field.
  9. I totally agree. I've been a fan for a long time, so I have many memories of bad teams. But I have never seen the White Sox organization in this bad a shape. Only the Bears of the early 1970s are a Chicago franchise that rivals this. Significant change has to happen, but this front office isn't capable of it. If they fire Grifol, will they just hire another man with no experience? If they fired Hahn, would they just replace him with another Sox insider? Retread KW? How bad will things get?
  10. I am so sick of Stone. When he isn't saying stupid crap like this, he's bad-mouthing fans and kissing up to JR. Robert looks like he has given up. Yes, swing at something a foot outside that was never close to a strike and sit down. The rest of the team looks lifeless, too. To me, Stone just represents what is wrong with organization. The Nile is such a long river.
  11. You can put 2022 and 2023 together since they represent the grand efforts of this FO. The short and long-term futures look bleak.
  12. Outscored 21-6 in two losses to KC. So much for the clean slate.
  13. Robert baffles me the most. The talent is really there.
  14. Winning a bad division with a .500 record is no accomplishment. They can skip that.
  15. One way to take pride is to not attend games. Investing time and money in this team is a waste. Smart fans would recognize this.
  16. Baseball is so hard to predict, and I didn't think the team was as bad as it appeared during the losing streak. But I'm short on optimism. They have to play well for an extended period of time before I can feel good about this team. And, for some reason, they don't play well in Kansas City. Tonight's game is not a given. Other than that, they are fortunate to be in the AL Central. Regardless, they have to get to .500 first, and that will take a while.
  17. You are right. This is no surprise. And I have the strong feeling they have already decided the team is not getting back into contention. So much for the rebuild.
  18. Reinsdorf has never liked the media, and, like many public figures, has been treated unfairly by the press at times. But many of his troubles are self-inflicted. These recent quotes are a recent example.
  19. Firing Hahn is only part of the solution. The White Sox organization has drifted out to sea, and it needs someone from the outside to bring it back to shore. But when the CEO thinks that fourth place is a success, it is doubtful that any real change will come, and the team will just drift. I wonder if there is anyone in the FO who is not in denial and has any sense of reality.
  20. Glad to hear about the Robert HR. He should not be under-achieving. He has too much talent.
  21. I agree and think the whole thing is great. I just don't think he'll get many save opportunities.
  22. I don't think the Sox are in the position to take any team lightly. I can easily see the Reds win this series.
  23. Gary Peters was a class act and one of the best left-handers of his generation. Too bad the Sox offense couldn't help team to a Series in the 60s. They had the pitching.
  24. This quote confirms what many of us have thought for years. Winning another World Series is not important to Reinsdorf. And I get sick of him telling fans what they think and how they feel when he has no clue of either.
  25. Excellent analysis. And right now the organization is at a real crisis point. It isn't because "fair-weather" fans are pissed. It is because long-time and loyal fans are pissed. I don't think the FO understands this one bit. They feel too entitled.
