  1. We visited Cleveland this year on our way back after our trip to Pittsburgh. Im sorry but compared to many other cities, downtown Cleveland is a dump. Does not surprise me one bit the Browns want to move out.
  2. As with everything else, including his sports teams and chsn, JR is delusional with getting money for the new ballpark as well. He thinks his way will work, but it won't, and it will flop.
  3. Same, live in MI and can watch the Sox when they aren't playing Detroit (except I've watched, MAYBE, a month's worth of games the last 2 seasons). I also miss the postgame show with Chuck, Ozzie and Frank/Pods when they are on. It seemed actually like they were showing the postgame shows on mlb.tv there for a little while, I'm not sure if they were just forgetting to cut the feed off or what lol.
  4. As pissed as many people are about chsn not being on Comcast, it could be a blessing in disguise (at least for baseball fans). I don't care how much they make out the antenna to be this great free thing. It's not the future, and people will continue to lose interest if there isn't a streaming option. Manfred seems to be anti-blackout. If more and more markets are running into the RSN issue, especially ones as big as Chicago, a national streaming option where every MLB game is available anytime, outside of maybe national games that are on FOX, etc, would be a great thing for the sport and fans alike.
  5. Except, this is exactly how Grifol sounded when he was hired. Said all the right things, sounded professional before he stepped into the dugout. Continually talked about being smart and well-prepared. He proved to be the exact opposite of that. Turned out to be one of the worst managers in the history of the team in just 2 years time.
  6. Wow, amazing. JR looks even more like a dinkus after this comment. Pony up Jerry! No one is on your side.
  7. Reinsdorf: "My version of skin in the game is passive aggressively threatening to move the team to Nashville."
  8. And if they can't get the funding for a stadium in Chicago, how the hell do they think they'll get it elsewhere?
  9. If anything it would have maybe been a closer wild card race if the Sox won a few more games against them. Maybe Seattle gets in. But I don't think it makes that much more of a difference.
  10. But they were one of the best teams (maybe the best?) in baseball in the 2nd half. They made the playoffs because they beat up on other teams too, not just the Sox. KC had the same record against the Sox as Detroit did and they were right ahead of Detroit in the standings so it's not like it matters much.
  11. I think AJ Hinch has made a big difference on that Tigers team (ironically, he shouldve been the Sox mgr instead of TLR). Detroit has no business being 1 win away from the ALCS. He should get a lot of credit for that. The right manager can absolutely make a difference over time. And if they really want to start changing the makeup of this organization, they need to start now, and the new manager should be an indicator of what kind of team they are trying to build for the future.
  12. Does anyone know if a clear signal would reach western Michigan?
  13. Chuck: "So what is your approach going into this season as the full time DH?" Eloy: "No fucking clue Chuckeroo."
  14. Gone are the days of #35, #14, and #79. We sure were spoiled at the first base position for decades
  15. Hoping he gets better like Benetti did and also Beckham.
  16. Apologies if this has been discussed but are chuck and Ozzie moving over to chsn?
  17. For me, it's purely the memories and nostalgia with my dad and friends from childhood. And the investment I've made following the team. I've lived in Michigan for almost 10 years now surrounded by Tigers fans. I have no desire to jump on the bandwagon. But I will say, after not watching much Sox baseball over the last couple years, I have paid more attention to the league in general. It's help to broaden my understanding of the game and appreciate the sport even more.
  18. I'm glad these articles are coming out and it's getting national attention. It really is the only way the tide can change. More of this=more pressure on Jerry to sell. That said, is anyone really surprised at the result of this season? I mean, I don't think anyone was expecting worst team of all time, but after closely following this team for the last 15 years of my life, it doesn't really surprise me one bit.
