December 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 08:10 AM) The Luis Robert Instagram feed is now unwatchable. I had to unfollow. Never seen a man take as many selfies and videos of himself doing absolutely nothing but admiring himself in a mirror. Total narcassist. As long as he can keep himself in freakish shape and transposes those physical gifts onto the field, I have no problem with the number of selfies he posts on social media.
December 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) Well, he is 20, and now has a lot more money than he ever had. Seems par for the course If I remember correctly, they also didn't have internet in Cuba. So he's a 20 year old in great shape with a ton of followers who just got money and the internet for the first time. The selfies basically seem like the logical extension of that.

So you're saying he's adapted to the American way of life quickly?
December 30, 20178 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 30, 2017 -> 11:39 AM) So you're saying he's adapted to the American way of life quickly? He sounds like most annoying Millenials!
December 31, 20178 yr Very good points guys. Sorry, had to get it off my chest after another video of him playing with hair. I just want baseball videos. This kid is going to special. Moncada is going to be a very good baseball player for us. I think Eloy and Robert will be better and will be special. Very exciting years ahead for us.
January 5, 20188 yr Hahn on moves in the immediate future: "It’s fair to say our main focus is on the 2018 club but we continue to be open to things that put us in a stronger position for the long term as well." https://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/949095883798433799
January 9, 20188 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 9, 2018 -> 09:07 AM) Do we still hold the rights to Infante? Looking at our roster, yes.
January 9, 20188 yr Cool, I thought he left for some reason. He was surprisingly good last year so was hoping he could have at it again.
January 12, 20188 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 10, 2018 -> 05:35 PM) Very few people read what people type. I am constantly amused at one or two sentences of a 10 paragraph post (by me) suddenly becomes my entire post and my entire position. Probably is a good reminder to keep posts short.
January 12, 20188 yr QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 05:25 PM) Jon Heyman @JonHeyman avi garcia files at $6.7M, chisox file at $5.85M Sox haven't gone to arbitration since 2001 with Keith Foulke. He'll lose IMO.
January 12, 20188 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 07:33 PM) Sox haven't gone to arbitration since 2001 with Keith Foulke. He'll lose IMO. Sox haven't gone to arbitration since 2001. They'll settle in-between, those numbers are pretty close anyway
January 12, 20188 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 05:33 PM) Sox haven't gone to arbitration since 2001 with Keith Foulke. He'll lose IMO. The MLB trade rumors projection was $6.7 million. If it is still possible, I would bet they would probably split the difference, but the Sox figure does seem a little low, and Avi's not so crazy. You take the midway point between the 2 offers and I think Avi is worth that. I don't think it is worth what you have to do in arbitration to save hardly anything, and really, Unless the mlbtr model is really off, Avi should win. He has $425k in value to play with under their model and the Sox offer.

January 13, 20188 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 12, 2018 -> 05:57 PM) That same mlbtr model had Abreu at $17.9 million and he signed for $13 million today. Right, but they did say his case was unusual. I bet Avi signs for around $6.3 million.
January 13, 20188 yr I recall Reinsdorf used to have the unwritten policy that if you went to arbitration you were on your way out of town. In my mind, not a good sign for Avi and Sanchez’s long term prospects.
January 13, 20188 yr QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jan 13, 2018 -> 01:31 PM) I recall Reinsdorf used to have the unwritten policy that if you went to arbitration you were on your way out of town. In my mind, not a good sign for Avi and Sanchez’s long term prospects. That’s probably just another “we hate Jerry Reinsdorf “ rumors.
January 13, 20188 yr The White Sox are finally replacing the old ribbon board around the park. Supposedly it is longer and better. I just hope they can throw more things on it than basically ads.
January 15, 20188 yr Pitchers and catchers report a month from today. Sox leave Arizona 10 weeks from today. Let it snow. Baseball is not that far away.
January 16, 20188 yr Another member of the 1959 team died this weekend. LHP, Rudy Arias. Looking at (I believe) his gf's IG, looks like he's gonna be a father as well.
