Mazara needs to be back in right field, his atbats over the last week have actually been good.

RF or DH, but his approach lately has been much better. He's been the victim of a couple of atrocious strike three calls.

I hope Robert isn't nervous or feeling pressure to perform. It would be nice if he had a good game. Moncada too.

They both have looked good at the plate, Moncada has been robbed of 2 hits so far.

Yes they have looked good. They're not the sure outs that they were 3 weeks ago.

I have a lot more faith in McCann than Encarnacion, even though James has been struggling. EE should absolutely NOT be in the lineup today. I’d also go with Mazara over Leury, as crazy as that sounds.

Mazara over Leury is not all that crazy. Encarnacion should not be in the lineup. It is just plain frustrating watching him bat.

No.

No one will be more motivated to have a good game today than Madrigal.

He had two hits yesterday and is one of the more reliable bats in the lineup.  There is no 9th in rally without him.  You can say yes he cost them three runs but he then in the same breath got them two in the 9th and the base running gaff was on a steal attempt that may have been Anderson's fault.

If Eloy can't go today, DH Mazara. If they bring in a left and Mazara is batting, bring in McCann.

First winner take all playoff game in the 120 years of the franchise. Pretty crazy.

Uh.  No not really.

If it's not a lefty Mazara should play for Leury.. If Eloy cannot play, McCann and Grandal should DH/C

Wonder if Oakland is throwing Fiers or Manea out there.

May see both. I think we get to both of them! Sox score 8 today!

8-3 final!

Almost certainly not Manaea

Today is going to be fun. Regardless out the outcome the team has come a looong way since 2016. Win or lose, the next 4-5 years will be fun. Go Sox!

Anderson shouldn't have put the silencer on his bat so Madrigal couldn't hear a baseball making contact with a wooden bat in an empty stadium.

What about the Blackout game?

That was considered a regular season game.

My heart hurts already

Sox win 6-2

Early lead. Dunning settles in. Power arms 6-9th innings. Celebrate. Kick Carlos Correa’s ass next week.

Start Dunning, any sign of trouble, follow him with Heuer, Foster, Marshall, Bummer, Crochet, Colome… those 6 relievers honestly could fill all 9 innings, so if Dunning doesn't look good in first, pull him for Foster. And keep going as if you have a 1 run lead in the 8th. Should be able to get this one if we score 3-4 runs!

Hilarious to me that we’re less than 4 hours from first pitch and we have no idea who the SP’s are!

I'm dressing in all black today.

Blackout Game.

You know, I was completely against Mazara yesterday, but his ABs have looked better.  I still have no faith he can do any damage, but he has given competent ABs recently.  More competent than the umps calling his ABs for sure.

Well if they start Fiers Mazara pretty much now has to be in there for either EE at DH or Leury in RF. If you want as many LHH as possible you leave Leury in RF again and DH Mazara.
