Problem with Sox is they have paper thin depth unless a lopez turns around

Again, this is the case for all teams contending.  No team is going 7-8 deep for starting pitchers.

Am I the only one that doesn't really want Cruz on this team? Yes, he's been ridiculous and very good (especially against the Sox), but he's 40 years old. At some point he's not going to be able to ke

Name their 7-8 starting pitchers?

They go 1-5 and then have dig into their farm like everyone else.

There is a difference between saying we need 7-8 starting pitchers and understanding the lack of reasonable depth at our AAA level as seen by Sox being forced to use stiever last year and drew Anderson. Yes, other contenders do have more organizational depth at that level.

I dunno, Peavy had probably 9 of the top 10 worst posts here...

peavy44 was a legend!

Giolito, Keuchel, Lynn, Cease, Kopech, Lopez, Stiever, and Lambert is decent depth. And they’re still going to add another proven starter as well as a spring training invite or two to a vet. They can always trade for a starter in July if needed as well.

If we add a legit #4 starter, we’ll have Kopech, Stiever, & Flores waiting in the wings at AAA with Lopez in the bullpen.  That’s pretty decent depth, but definitely that one additional starter.

Is there anyone else hector would have connections to if not Cruz?

Any latino free agent sps?

Hector seems to be very sensitive and said he felt bad about the Sox not getting Machado. This is not a problem, but can someone who has twitter ask him what type of player we'd get? Let him know that we will be very disappointed in him if we can't get a decent answer lol.

This sounds like a job for @Orlando. He’s great at that stuff.

Jaime Navarro once b****ed about run support after a game he gave up 9 runs.

Yeah on a list of most hated players, he would rank #1 for me, and no one else is particularly close.

Yes and the other luxury that this team has that should aid the rotation. A deep and talented bullpen. On paper, the best in baseball.

Excuse me, folks,  But I claim to be the author of the dumbest post in Soxtalk history.  Until you offer a post that gets ripped in Sports Illustrated .... I rest my case.

Headed into the 2020 season they had Kershaw, Buehler, Price, Urias, Gonsolin, May, Wood, Stripling, and Nelson.

What about Brett Myers or Wil Cordero?  I personally also really hated David Wells, but not sure he would pass Navarro.

southside2k5 can share it with you, as he did in the Hendriks thread a day or two ago at about 1 in the afternoon.

Right I’m in favor of another starter. Without one, we are playing with fire.

Especially if they are expecting Kopech to start at AAA for service time manipulation. I assume starter #5 right now has to be Lopez right?

I think he would be by default, but it sounds like they’d like to move him to the bullpen which is yet another reason we need another starter.

We need to teach these young pups the history of Soxtalk...

It's not service time manipulation. It doesn't make any sense to start him in the majors on an innings limit.
