No player should talk about 3,000 hits before they reach 3,000 at bats, and it's an open question at this point Nick reaches that plateau. Between COVID and the CBA, it may take him until his age

175 hits a year from age 24 to 40. Good luck.

Get to 1000 by the 2026 all-star break and we’ll talk.

Well, he definitely has the confidence. I'm a big believer in Nick, but he almost sounded a little cocky...which may not be a bad thing. Let's see what happens when the game humbles him. I don't think that's happened, like, really happened, yet.

Scrappy little dude like him could do it.  It would be quite the feat, but not impossible.  Love the confidence, though.

32 guys in MLB history have done this according to baseball reference.

So yeah, since Madrigal is so much like all these other guys then sure...

But hey, before we get ahead of ourselves, let's try beating this guy first:

Cocky is good for a lot of professional athletes but I don't think he sounded cocky at all in that interview.  Just saying it's doable and he believes in himself.  If he didn't that'd be a much bigger issue.

Will also have the lowest SLG for the Holy Hall.

If you don't think you can do it...you probably can't.  I love his belief in himself.

Starlin Castro is about to turn 31. He has over 1600 hits. He had a decent shot at  3000 but started really sucking and a Covid season probably ruined any chance.

Will Nick maintain his rookie status this year?   His ABs shouldn’t make him lose it, but his service time may. Not sure when he got called up or how his IL time counts.

Good to see confidence from him.

/2900 of them will still be singles

About as reachable for him as a 9 ft basketball rim.

This guy annoys me.

I'm all for confidence, but Madrigal needs to shut up and prove himself for a full season at the MLB level before even dreaming about 3,000 career hits.

love it.

I have no issue with this. I’d rather have a guy set high expectations for himself than none at all. But there’s no way he’s getting there batting 9th.

Not if his shoulder is going to come off like a Lego figure every time he slides.

Between COVID and the CBA, it may take him until his age 26 season to become the All Time White Sox Hit Leader named Nick.

All Time White Sox Hit Leader Board - Players Named Nick

  1. Nicky Delmonico 114
  2. Nick Swisher 109
  3. Nick Madrigal 35

I predict this thread will be very even-keeled.

Most of his career will be in the first or second spot IMO.  Ninth is great as he gets acclimated, however.

He may be little, but you can’t call him Little Dick Nick.

Ha. I was just about to type...should we call him Tripod? Is little Nicki Slanging a BIG singles hitting stick?
