I don't think the off days are meant for "sprinkly" days.

They are for opening day. We've actually seen it a bit in recent years.

I'm so glad we hired Tony LaRussa so this team could be managed like a 1999 National League roster. We're plucking guys off the street and dumping them into our lineup over our top prospect whom we're

Please explain rushing a player from High A to sit on the bench and burn a year of team control.

If he's barely playing, the team is not manipulating service time by giving him reps at both the plate and at a new position at the alternate site, and eventually AAA.

It literally makes zero sense and is beyond infuriating.

This Vaughn this makes zero sense.  We're already like 1.5 weeks away from just getting an extra year if we just sent him to the alt site out of ST and the guy has all of 17 PA.  Its an absolute fucking joke.  TLR Is going to blow a year of service for like 35 PA.

If you live nearby and have no problem being available to go to a game tomorrow, sure, but for people coming in from out of town or with work or other commitments that preclude them from attending tomorrow, they'd rather sit through the sprinkles.

Because they still destroy LHP.  Scoring 3-4 runs a game vs RHP won’t work.

How about 3-4 hits a game like the Cubs? I can only imagine the uproar around here. It’ll be fine. This is still a very good lineup. Should be top 10 in MLB even with the slap hitters included. A top 10 offense combined with a top 10 pitching staff is certainly good enough to contend. Yes, their outings have been short but I’m very encouraged by the starting staff. Best staff since 2005 imo.

A few years ago they made us all go the park, waited for the bad weather to pass, and then cancelled the game anyways. But they got that extra consession gate.

Commenting towards the echo chamber as well.. Sitting Vaughn is ridiculous.

Starting Nick Williams over him is even more ridiculous.

We need more of a sample on Vaughn. Play the fucking man.

Billy WILLIAMS? Lmaooooo how has nobody corrected this yet??? White Sox marketing at it again ?

Like he cares what happens to Vaughn in 6 years

Ah yes luv to sit a top 10 prospect for someone named Nick Williams

I do.  And Rick and Kenny should.

That doesn't look like a graphic that can from the Sox, rather from WGN9News.

Billy Williams.

Only thing I can figure with Williams over Vaughn is not wanting to risk putting him out in a wet outfield.

Of course, it also could be to help keep the losing streak vs RH starters in tact.

Who the hell cares about the Cubs in this scenario?  This is a team that had/has World Series aspirations, the Cubs didn't.  Everything Fathom saying is true here, we murder lhp and don't hit right handers that well.  Even last year when everyone thought we had the best offense in the world, we were very average against righties and that's with Eloy around who was one of the guys who mashed them.

Sitting him isn't ridiculous. Maybe keeping him on the 26 is though. No reason to play him against a righty. Maybe Williams can provide something against the righty Keller.

For who?  All 3-4 of the remaining minor league pitching depth below AA?

Cubs’ fan with the brain fart.

Lo and behold, it is his first given name.  Maybe his dad was a fan of the Cubbies, lol.  Or he’s changing his name, like Mike Stanton.  A bit odd for a Sox player in this city, but oh well.

Ernie or Ron should be the next recalled player, or Lou for Brock to mess with fans of the Northsiders.

Despite all the weakness, Sox position players are collectively 4th in MLB in fWAR and 7th in wRC+ through the first week of the season. That’s certainly enough to contend this season if the pitching is as good as advertised.

by the way, they’re ahead of the darling Padres and Yankees in both categories. The offenses that everyone gushes about.

2021 vs righty starters: .206/.325/.290/.615

2021 vs lefty starters: .292/.382/.496/.877

This isn't something we didn't see coming when Eloy went down, it's 100% accurate to question whether or not this lineup has enough thunder vs righties, so far they're not fairing well at all.

It’s on Hahn as much as it is TLR. They’re purchasing contracts of AAAA players and giving their manager an opportunity to play them in place of Vaughn.

I know fathom cares about the cubs very much so I included that in jest. But in all seriousness, who cares if they’re average against righties if they still have a top 10 offense in MLB? I believe this pitching staff will be top 10 by year end. How many other teams do you expect to have a top 10 offense and pitching staff? Only teams with World Series aspirations.

Somebody has to take those roster spots.

Really, no reason to play him? We already know for certain that Vaughn's righty-platoon splits will be bad?

Some Cubs fans idea as a joke probably who remembers the HOF LFer in his heyday on WGN.
