  • Saying "I want the owners to get more money so they spend it on cool stuff for us" is the funniest most unrealistic expectation of this thread, thank you for that

Yea this is going to go over well.

MLB at least used to pretend that it cared somewhat about the fans. In this case, they are not bothering to pretend. Why should they care? They believe that fans will take whatever they dish out.

I am hopeful that both sides are ready to get this over with.

If it is going to be 14 teams every division winner would/should get a bye

That would mean no TV show where teams pick opponents and fewer playoff games, so that won’t happen. I will say…if they sell their soul and go to 14, I will watch less regular season baseball, and won’t watch the postseason until LCS if I feel the teams that are in, deserve to be there…meaning good regular season win totals. They add inventory, I’ll watch less. Period.

I "watch" most games during the regular season. I usually am not fully invested. I like day games when I'm home. Turn it on take a nap

Yeah...it's kind of like a babysitter for some of us.  Some nap time can frequently happen.

I'm a little surprised that items like larger bases and robo ump is in the CBA. It doesn't directly relate to compensation. I guess working conditions.

I'm intrigued with the one up for division winners. Actually I would have rejected it as crazy if MLB proposed it, but since it's the players, I'm interested.

If we get the owners mad they will shut it down for good. Losing so much money.

Maybe you're the one who is crazy.

It’s almost too bad there’s so much press coverage around the lockout.  After every session we’re hearing each side say how disappointed they are with the other side, and that negotiations are going no where.  Lock yourselves in a room, figure it out, and stop whining to the press.  Cone back to us when there’s a deal.

If > 8 owners don't want to play in April, which I think is a pretty plausible theory, then it isn't possible for both sides to get in a room and agree on *any* deal right now.

I'm surprised the union rejected the robo umps. Unless it is just a bargaining chip.

Wonder why the rejection of robo umps. Maybe because they aren't perfected yet?

Neither side will give up anything without getting something in return.

I  remember when,

I remember, I remember when I lost my mind.

Does that make me crazy?
