Correct. One piece of bad news is Rodon going to SF...there was legit interest in then taking on Keuchel and a portion of his deal.

  • The funny thing is I guarantee other team fan bases hate their bullpen and wish their GM spent money on bullpen guys like the WSox.

Just... exhausting. Hahn won't stop spending his assets on Relief pitchers. it's honestly amazing.

See...2005!

It's a different game now. You will never see starters throw those kind of innings again.

He's talking about guys like Cliff Politte and Cotts being unhittable.

Got it. I thought he meant they don't need to sign relievers because you can get away with fewer like 2005.

You're not asking him to slot in as better than your fourth reliever and your third right handed reliever, so its not like we're signing him to be our top pen arm

Please let this be true.

He's also due for BABIP regression imo. He has to be. Career low .227 last year with a 85 exit velocity. and now he can't doctor the ball anymore like he clearly was. this is dumb AF.

The 85 exit velo is a good sign that he won't see a ton of BABIP regression.

I just don't understand making this a priority. It's not necessarily that they were focused on relief at the expense of other options but this is a pattern now.

Sounds like Kimbrel.

The FO clearly like guys who throw hard sinkers. Maybe they played a lot of MLB The Show.

We'll see how he does outside Spidertack land in SoCal.

Has to mean Craig is out the door.

What about Tepera now?

if balta, myself and ray agree on something it's clearly a bad move for the Sox just saying.

It's part of Tony La Russa being the manager

He was better after the spidertack ban. I'd like to see how much we paid, but I don't think this is necessarily a worse signing than Tepera.

The best bullpen in baseball will not end up being who you thought it'll be. Signing RP's coming off career years is almost never a good strategy.

Nonsense - HUH?  2021 Sox Pitching Staff gave up 3rd fewest hits, 4th fewest HR, 3rd most K’s, 5th lowest ERA but alright whatever you think, pal.

Yes, the starting rotation in 2021 was lights out good. The bullpen blew the 3rd most games in MLB.

Amazing. Name someone who is more Southside than Joe Kelly. You cant.

Guys, we are going to need a lot of pitching.   Not only do we have starters still ramping up and potentially getting hurt, I really feel like coming off of no team workouts after a full 21, and 1/3 of 20 could knock out conditioning on some starters as well.

You can never have enough pitching. Not much ready for depth in the minors.

Pretty stupid

What’s stupid exactly?  Our bullpen is garbage after like four guys and desperately needed an addition, especially if we move Kimbrel.

LA reporter says La Russa was vocal about wanting Kelly. Of course he was. Why doesn't he become the GM too?
