Chicago vs Boston Game 3

In TLR’s mind, you need to have your best players rested for the playoffs, but you may not make the playoffs punting so many games  We are also paying millions to many of these guys to have them grabbing so bench on national TV.

Is there anything empirically that backs up that players receiving one day of rest a week somehow produce better than when they play every day? I don’t really understand where this notion came from. It’s not like back in the 90s you would see players completely gassed from playing 130 games.

  • Can't vouch for that as I don't remember it but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Everyone should be disciplined for flipping off the fans.

This is a result of our offense sucking. Every game is high leverage when you only score 3 or 4 runs.

If Kuechel gets annihilated to the point of losing his spot in the rotation, I'm still counting it as the 6th win in a row.

Good News: Keuchel is pitching to contact

Bad News: We have a 1B and a utility infielder out there patrolling the corner OF positions.

Every hot dog a banquet! Every fly ball an adventure! Baseball at it's finest.

Time for Engel or Pollock to replace Sheets in left field with the wind blowing.  Sheets only hope is the wind pushing the ball foul.

WTF is Sheets bunting for, your suppose to be left-handed power bat.  Sit him.

Lmao

Sheets bunting for a hit is an inspired choice.

In his defense, seems like Verdugo is having a tough time out there too

Interviewing guys in the field during play . has to be extremely distracting to the player.

Might have worked out if he bunted it like he was bunting for a hit and pushed it past the pitcher but he squared up like a sac bunt.

Sheets is just completely lost if he's trying to beat outta bunt for a hit.

Just send him to Charlotte to play every day.

The bunt was a good idea

That bunt call absolutely came from the dugout which is even funnier

It's on the NBC network; not just local Chicago.   I'm in NYC

I checked around. It might be channel 10-1 for me which my small antenna doesn't get. I'm listening to the radio feed which is fine

How much time does he realistically spend working on push or drag bunts?

That's a knockout punch . just brutal.

Completely agree. Can't try to force him back to hitting while in a pennant race. Once Moncada is back send him down.

Did he think Billy Hamilton was up instead?

Do they have a spare umpire?  What happens if he cant come back

Verdugo is going to be an announcer one day lol

Mendick will go down tomorrow. Gotta imagine Sheets goes down when Vaughn returns

I'll sub in. Don't worry I'm 100% unbiased.
