You know he’s not going to point the finger at the dugout/TLR.

Well in this case maybe he shouldn't

Also special shot out to Jack Parkman here for getting the release completely wrong, as usual.

Finally happened, thank God. But celebrating is acknowledging another link in the long chain for Rick Hahn's failures as GM.  He's probably doing the same eat pie shit come next season for G

Nothing to gloat about and he will get a shot with a team that can field. Still stuck with a meh team and bad org.

Seems we end up saying that about 1/4th our FA acquisitions.  Although this case is quite different from Dunn, Keppinger, Herrera, Alonso, Holland, Eaton and LaRoche to name a few.

Dunn at least was a nice guy and contributed a lot in 2012.

So that makes it 2 years in a row now where we've eaten a considerable amount of money to DFA someone mid-season. I think we still owe Keuchel around $12 million the rest of the year. Hahn is so good at wasting money lol.

Money he could have used  for a quality 2B and/or RF.

I meant Jerry Reinsdorf…but surely Keuchel will burn some bridges on his way out the door.  We might get some insight on what’s wrong with the team (besides him) depending on how candid he actually is.

Can make same argument about keeping Kimbrel and then the disastrous (non-RFer, non LHB) acquisition of Pollock.

Won’t miss his beard either. Never been a fan of ZZ  Top.

One of the worst starters to wear a Sox uniform. Man he stunk. Sox have had a ton of miserable pitchers and he was right up there.

So this makes Harrison the player on roster with the hottest seat?

Disappointments in Grandal, Garcia, Pollock, and Moncada all have extra years on contract. So it has to be Harrison. Especially with 2-3 viable minor leaguers excelling at 2b right now.

Yes I know who you meant and you're probably right about Keuchel, he seems to like pointing his finger at everyone. It'll be interesting to see what he says. Jerry has given Hahn/KW plenty of money to build and better this team, but they've wasted to much of it. I'm sure Jerrys talking to his buddy and wouldn't be to surprised to see TLR as our next GM. and that really scares me

About time he is done

This isn't a performance based organization.   You forget who the owner is.

It's a $$$ based organization, and any time Rick Hahn goes to the well in Free Agency he's eating dead money.

Noone is surprised either. Dude is wrong 99/100 times no matter what sport.

Now can we DFA Leury and Harrison?

Adam Dunn stole 19 bases for the Reds in 2002 as a 22 year old. If you can imagine that.

Good. I think it's pretty obvious he was a fucking cheater, just like most Astros. His numbers after the substance crackdown are pretty telling.

I didn't like Keuchel the moment the signing was announced and i heavily dislike him now. Good riddance and one of the dumbest signings from a dumb organization.

Not raining on anything. But Mendick doesn’t have any role on this club.

Maybe TLR plans on him pitching !

It's like the KW lightning in a bottle.

Huge upgrade. Mendick much better pitcher

I can’t help but say that yes, there are other options than trotting DK out there every 5th game as has been weirdly argued. Such as, not trotting him out there.

I bumped the thread from 2019 but locked it. There may be another one, but I couldn't find it.

Parkman for the win on this one.

And there was much rejoicing. Yay.

Rejoicing is not the word I would use. Relief. Relief that someone took the shovel out of the guy’s hand that was digging furiously  at the bottom of the hole in the front yard. And beat that guy over the head with it. And, we are relieved the hole in the front yard stopped getting deeper.

I scanned through it. Not many exactly pumping fists in the air on the signing. Mostly, 'we'll see'.

Phew.
