Noticing there isn't much of a crowd on a nice Sunday afternoon. Is that their fault or ours?

I'd prefer Vaughn at 1B and Engel in the OF over both of those options.

At this point, Yaz should never be in the lineup when he's not catching. Engel, even when he's not hitting, gives you plus value as a defender. If you don't have nine guys giving you plus value with t

TLR will give his boy Leury some reps to get him ready for the playoffs.

TLR has all his best hitters at the top of the order today. Noted for posterity

Gio didn't throw anything in the zone on Choi.

10 hits in 4 inning - Who are these guys?

Hope they didn’t pull him out because of another injury.

Gio under 60 PC in 4 innings. Nice

My guess was since it was his first start in the OF the plan was for only 5 innings. Would be nice if AAA had a rule where a rehabbing player can move from a fielding position to DH mid-game.

Gio relaxed in the dugout.

Terming Eloy in the outfield a success just because he made it without being hurt sort of misses the point that the failure was in planning to play him in the outfield

Doubt he would have called it a successful OF debut if that were the case

Rays attendance along with Marlins are the lowest in the majors.  Too many transplants with no local baseball traditions, and many other things to do like going to the beach, boating, partying, etc.

Gameday/Statcast has Gio's 4-seams at 93-95.

thats a lot more tolerable when we have what i assume is our first six fun lead since the Carter administration

That's where he's been all year.

Hold this lead.

Most Tampa people don't really identify the Rays as a Tampa team. They almost always point out that the stadium is in St. Pete and too out of the way to get to. i think it's a bit weird, but you see a lot of that in comments around the web.

I watch a lot of other teams, and there is rarely a large crowd at the Trop.

FWIW, Tampa's TV ratings are very high.

Noticed that as criticism of TLR has gone national as a geezer out of touch with bad decisions galore, his hair is getting darker, today is almost black.  Is he looking to looking more youthful?

maybe get someone up..

Rack Em up!

There is also criticism about the stadium being in a bad location and of an outdated park.

I wrote a post earlier in the week comparing the TLR 1983 winning ugly team to this 2022 version. See the numbers below.

NOW let say the 2022 TLR VERSION is not as good as the 1983 version of TLR. BUT the talent if healthy is better

Idk why anyone would throw a lefty against the Sox unless it was someone like McClanahan. Sox haven't done anything since Yarborough left the game.
