July 10, 20232 yr From law: Taylor is a draft-eligible sophomore who was just OK as a 20-year-old reliever last spring for LSU but was dominant on the Cape as a starter. Unfortunately, his elbow blew right before the season started and he required Tommy John surgery. On the Cape he was 92-94 mph, touching 97 mph, with a hammer curveball as his out pitch, lacking a third option, and he threw far more strikes than he had in the spring. He’s more of a wild card than the rest of the college TJ guys, since we just got a brief taste of what he might look like as a starter.

July 10, 20232 yr An injured player is one thing. A reach is another. And then there is reaching for an injured pitcher. Quite the daily double.

July 10, 20232 yr Just want to be clear that this is actually an upside pick for the upside boys. But I liked getting Whitmans plus control. I’m sure he goes to Cleveland and finds 5 more mph.
July 10, 20232 yr This is worse than Burdi pick years ago…..abysmal. Not even ranked in top 100 Edited July 10, 20232 yr by Soxfest
July 10, 20232 yr I'm not hating this one as much. Already got the TJS out of the way. Great 4 pitch mix. 4 borderline plus pitches

He was also going to be a starter, and had been in the summer and fall before blowing it out in the spring (winter?)
July 10, 20232 yr I like what I'm reading for pick 52, but obviously limited info. TJS out of the way is only a plus.

Great 4 pitch mix. 4 borderline plus pitches I don’t really like the injured pitcher picks. We’ve had quite a few of the 10% who don’t work out so we’ll after surgery. I’m sure he’ll fine but it’s just not my thing.
July 10, 20232 yr This guy actually seems like he has some real upside...hopefully he develops a third pitch and is OK post surgery.
