August 2, 20223 yr If the Sox really do come through the trade deadline with Jake Diekman as their main piece, this franchise gets everything they deserve from the fan base. Ever since the day that they decided that Tony LaRussa was the finishing piece for this franchise, they have completely ignored the fan base in everything they do. Hopefully the chants fill the stadium and continue to embarrass the franchise on a daily basis.
August 2, 20223 yr Do you believe at this point the Sox will trade for a position player or starting pitcher?

August 2, 20223 yr It's going to be trading Lenyn Sosa for like Matt moore, cementing Leury Garcia on this team forever.
August 2, 20223 yr Biggest move they can make is fire TLR. Everyone wanting them to trade just to trade. Why lose some of your younger players for players that aren't going to help this team compete. They can't field, they can't run the bases, they can't hit as a group. This team has some bad MOJO, so why spend possible assets.

August 2, 20223 yr I'm happy that they didn't make any ill-conceived moves in a season where they're kidding themselves if they believe they have a shot. However, I feel like standing pat is the worst possible outcome. It's just another lost opportunity to change the makeup of the roster and possibly move players who might have been in demand. I would hope that they were at least listening on dealing from the current MLB roster. Edited August 2, 20223 yr by skooch

August 2, 20223 yr There's still time, but this feels like a "we had some discussions but nothing came together; we feel good with what we have on the field right now" kind of day.
August 2, 20223 yr Happ and Contreras are both in the Cubs lineup for tonight. I can't imagine at least one of them not being traded.
August 2, 20223 yr Meh, this team stinks. No reason to add around the edges, and I'm pretty sure no one cares about our "non-Colson or Colas" prospects enough to give anything good for them. Standing pat is the right call. What are they gonna do, trade Abreu?

August 2, 20223 yr Author I’m guessing something like Crochet, Ramos, & Popeye for Happ & Givens happens in the last 30 minutes and to me that’s a big overpay IMO.

How dare you criticize his moves." - SoxTalk, September-October 2020 "Yasmani Grandal is elite. He will catch 120 games a season, just like he always has." - SoxTalk, September-October 2020
August 2, 20223 yr I have been a loyal fan to this team for soooo long. I don't regret it but I sure am disappointed in THIS ownership group and front office! Just pathetic!

I'm with you 100% but if they aren't selling, there has to be an actual corner outfielder available for just the money remaining. Doing neither makes no sense to me. August 2, 20223 yr If the Sox were smart, they'd make NO trades, tell everyone that is still listening they tried... and blow up this shitshow during the offseason. The White Sox are not smart so they'll trade for exactly what they don't need.
