I got a son (my first kid) on the way.  He's going to be a lefty whether he likes it or not.

Cheers man!

What were the Giants thinking?? He might accept and then they'll be stuck with an ace on 1 year deal.

Only a true Sox fan would name him Leury

The Dodgers are doing whatever they can to win, while the Pirates are trading away franchise players before they even make it to arbitration just so they can save a few dollars. They aren't even in the same league. Pirates fans are dealing with their franchise player demanding a trade, Dodgers fans were talking about moving a top 3 player in the game to second base so they could sign a top 3 player to play right field for 300+ million.

It doesn't matter if there is a "content team", its still laughable and infuriates the fanbase that loses franchise players every other year and has a payroll of $50 million. Again, a real slap in the face PR wise. I am glad you find the Vince Velasquez hype 'refreshing', but go tell that to a long suffering Pirates fan in that Twitter post and see what kind of new expletives they will invent for you.

So unless you sign a big name free agent these teams should just SHUT THE f*** UP. Got it.

Let me throw out all the usual complaints right now before knowing any terms of the contract — the amount is absurd, these contracts are ruining baseball, and the last few years will provide no value for the Dodgers.

Ambidextrous might be the way to go so that TJ surgery doesn't put him out of commission for quite as long.

$13M - Now we ask would you rather have had Thor or Clevinger (plus who knows if Thor even wanted to be here)?

At least ‘The right deals’ are ‘Presenting  themselves’ prostrate in front of other teams. Good for them.

I'd rather have Syndergaard. He was at least an average starter last year.

Hahn had to pay a $4M Sox tax just to have Clevinger sign early. I bet it would've taken at least $20M to get Thor since in LA it'll be easier to pad his stats for a potential huge contract next year.

29/30 GMs would take a 30 year old coming off tommy john vs a 32 coming off his second.

Can someone remind me what I’m supposed to be rooting for at this point? Every single FA to sign so that some team gets angry and makes a bad trade with Hahn?

Yup, that’s the plan!

So, Syndergaard is going to be the Dodgers latest version of Tyler Anderson. ~160 innings of a sub 3 ERA likely incoming.

I'm sure the Sox would have had to pay a few extra mil to land him. Pitchers, I'd think, would always break ties in favor of signing with the Dodgers.

Not a bad signing or anything but it's shocking how bad the Tigers rotation looks given all they've invested in young pitchers.

You have to root for them to go 0-162 so Reinsdorf will finally sell the team and the new owners shoots the entire organaization from Kenny down to the clubbies into the sun.  That's what I'm hoping for anyway.

Translation:  The White Sox couldn't have gotten him for 1/13.

I forgot about Herrera. How does whoever pick these guys keep their

 job(s)?

The sum of the total of all of these contracts ($257 million) are $93 million less than the San Fransisco Giants spent on one contract.

That is revolting
