It's a little known fact that this song was actually written about a glorious White Sox day game winner....thus the FIREWORKS......

  • For the record, I would love nothing more than this team to excel this year and make the postseason.

People act like the frustrations with the Sox are coming just from a 3-4 start, but its a lot more than that.  Its a decade+ of failure bubbling over.  We were promised a world series contender by Hah

It’s crazy that in the 70s you could just videotape people doing something in one take in terrible lighting, have it look bad, and just say:  “this is fine.  Release this to the world”

Romy in RF again.  Man, they could have really used Adam Duvall if they were going to go with a platoon.  Super frustrating.

Here I thought it was about....well you know!

Don't Stop Now Boys! Let's kick the Giants hard today and win this series and keep the momentum going?

You guys need to be dominant at home this year and have a well above 500 record at home this season and not the horrible under 500 record you had last year at home.

Agreed. However, they weren't going to pay over $7M (how much he's getting from Boston) for a backup/weak side platoon OF. Plus, he gets to play every day there. Can't really blame them there.

Stay hot, Romy.

I think that is precisely the move a major market club in their window makes.

The savings in starting Colas (barring a ROY) in Charlotte alone would have helped pay the bill.  I think the Sox were "in" on him but using the same strategy they used on Elvis.  If anyone came along with a real bid they weren't going to get him.

Major miss for me.

Quite the Sunday lineup!

Also, how much more do they need to spend over Boston to pull him in over having a starting CF job that he can use to try to get a multi-year/more money after this year? $2M? 3M? Possibly $9-10M for a 4th OF seems pricey for this team. Emphasis on the bolded.

Five non regulars starting?

Uh oh.

Moncada still ouchy too?

Yeah, I mean the guy who has been the best player in the league a week in would be helpful, for sure.

Ehhh.  Gussing Moncada's toe hurts and he's not great against lefties, and Hanser is.  No issues with Romy getting a start.

That lineup strikes fear in any MLB organization!

Somehow, it'll probably score 7 runs or something.

One week in and guys already need rest? OK then...

Yeah, but it was in glorious color!

I would think for Moncada, it's related to him taking the foul ball off his toes.

if Oscar Colas is playing 5 out of 7 games, and pinch hitting in a sixth, is he "platooning"?

I know this isn't the point at all, but why is the "vs." circled

we know they're playing the giants

yes, if he sits every time there is a lefty. (which he has)

I love that Andrus has played every game

So the guy used essentially the same lineup to start the season and the whining for using subs blows up.  Starters should get all 3 in Pittsburgh.

Start season with 10 games in 11 days..

Once again the shitty 2B is the guy on pace to play a trillion games. The more things change...
