Very nice return.  @Balta1701 - You going to admit you were wrong about Lucas commanding a top 100 prospect?

We got a top 100 prospect for Giolito.  Isn’t that what most of the optimists were expecting?

If you go by rankings wasn’t he the second piece?

Yea I guess so. I think the scouting turned out fairly accurate on him. Maybe he can have a couple nice years as a setup guy. We jerked him around so much it's hard imo for relievers to thrive like that.

He looks awful against the Braves.  The Angels fans of course are questioning why he’s throwing 92 right down the plate.

Goodness.....9 er so far, and homers a plenty.

I can’t believe people are pissed the Sox didn’t extend him

I can't stand Rick Hahn like most people, but....the moves that WERE made this deadline, I strangely like every single one of them.

He can't pitch during daytime starts.

Or at night, or in high humidity, or when it's cloudy.........?

2.41 ERA vs (terrible hitting) AL Central teams, 5.05 ERA against everyone else this season.

He’s the same #5 starter that he was last year. Not sure what an innings eater #5 starter is worth on the open market these days but someone will surely overpay. A miracle the Sox even got a top 100 MLB prospect for him.

As was Lopez.

Lopez was also waived

Lol.

The Angels organization is such a joke.  Unbelievable how they wasted Trout and Ohtani.

I'm likely in the minority here, but I would like brining back Reynaldo Lopez and sign him for 1-2 years in the offseason.

Bring them both home and put them in the starting rotation, stat.

It's settled then....and give Giolito a damn extension because our starting rotation is ass.

Would love Lopez with a new pitching coach.

As for Giolito, claim him and find something in the CBA that still makes him Qualifying Offer-Elgibile as a result.

Is there some rule about how quickly a player can return to a team that traded him? There is in the NBA. I would be thrilled if Gio came back and re-signed.

I don’t think so, if Angels outright release him he can go where he wants

If Getz claims them, I'll immediately like him 2% more as a GM
