I don’t see 2024 in there yet.  I just found this site but don’t know how accurate it, and it looks like they are missing pre-arbitration salaries.

2024 is the large link top-center. I posted that link right above the bp.com one.

Ah, nice, I missed the link completely.  I only ever used that Cot’s site for the contract details.

OK, I hardly ever look at the screen names of people, basically go by the avatar. I thought the last bunch of posts were one guy having a conversation with himself ?

You're thinking of Caulfield

When there are numerous names related to Chicago White Sox (shocking on a message board named SoxTalk, I know), sometimes it's hard to keep track...

Of course, that used to be more of a problem when fan interest was much higher 2-3 seasons ago.

With Cease gone what Sox pitcher has the best mustache?  I know they are both starting the year in the minors, but it is clearly Drew Thorpe vs. Ky Bush.  Battle to the death. There can be only one.

Would love to know what their offer was.

Gonna guess it was the Porter, Duran, Leiter package

Forgot about that rumored offer.  Terrible.  Duran is a free swinging hacker and Porter and Leiter cant throw strikes.  Funny how these teams throw out offers with their players with the most obvious flaws.

Thorpe, Iriarte, and Wilson have combined for 2 earned runs allowed in 34 innings. Not bad.

So... Will the Padres flip Cease at the deadline for more than they traded? Did Preller absolutely pants the Great Getz? A sexy 0.75 WHIP and 2.19 ERA.

Also going to be Top 5 in fWAR when the updates come out tmrw morning...

Except they're RIGHT there in the Wild Card race and just traded for Arraez, so it's far from a sure thing they would trade Cease when starting pitching is arguably THEIR biggest need as well.

He's just being dramatic. Sox got some good pieces .Padres got Cease for 2 years max .

I wouldn't put it past them to trade him though but what they'd get back is highly speculative given he's got some starts to go.

Well, there's naturally a certain amount of drama when you come back "home" to beat the organization that originally traded you to your rivals, that's just human nature.   Then throw a 1 hitter with 10+ K's (most of Cease's games aren't even followed on the West Coast.)

I'm talking about the Getz getting pantsed part as if the Sox got crap in return for Cease .

It’s definitely possible, and obviously wouldn’t be the first time Preller pantsed a Sox GM in a trade involving a starting pitcher.

I wouldn’t have had the balls to hang onto Cease and risk injury and Getz didn’t either.  But many other posters made the argument that Cease doesn’t really get hurt, which has stayed true thus far.

Everybody here loves to amass shame porn. Now Cease is Verlander, when in November, he was Erick Fedde.

That’s because Cease IS currently pitching like peak-level Verlander for the Padres.  In his start against the Cubs yesterday, he gave up 1 hit and had 12 strikeouts in 7 innings.  It was the first time in the Statcast era (past 9 years) that a starting pitcher didn’t give up a hard hit ball (exit velocity > or = to 95 mph).  Mike Tauchman made an out with an exit velocity of 94.6 mph.

Also, you would be rewriting history if you say you don’t remember posters that wanted to hold onto Cease until this year’s trade deadline so he could prove he was an ace once again and potentially increase the return on him.  I wasn’t one of those posters because I was concerned with Cease getting injured or struggling again, and the Sox getting even less for him.  But it looks like those other posters may have been right.

Of course we can’t just assume Cease would’ve pitched as well as he is with the Padres right now with the Sox, especially with the MLB’s worst defense that Getz put together, but it will still be interesting to see what the Padres get for Cease if they fall out of the playoff race and decide to trade him, and see how that compares with the Sox return from this past offseason.

Haha, the starter that Hahn acquired but Reinsdorf obviously would never pay for and the other starter that wouldn’t sign with our team, whether it was due to his wife or the Sox not upping their offer.  We went from Wheeler to Keuchel.  Good lord.  ?

Hahn wasn’t a complete moron at least.

It’s almost as if us fans aren’t as smart as we think we are.

They took the risk of having Cease during the season.. We clearly were not wanting to do that and it could pay. Luckily Iriarte is looking really really good (if you forget his 8 walks yesterday)

Tough to say if Cease would have done as well in Chicago this year. Last year's terrible team probably weighed on him, per his own words, and it likely would have to some extent this year too.
