You lose out on a lot of taxes as they go to pay down JR's park and hotel and other things, and when does that actually become a money maker? The current park cost 1/10th of what this one will and they still owe $50 million. So if they do the exact same thing, the Sox will need to move from the 78 to be able to compete with the Royals before these debts are close to paid off. It's a nice location, probably the best available in the city. It looks like it could be a nice park.
