It’s also good practice for down the road if a similar situation arises and they’re in a better position as a franchise.

Perhaps Sasaki has already been to Chicago and New York, but if he hasn’t and he was at all interested in playing for teams that weren’t in the west coast, one might think he would want to see what those cities were like during the teams’ presentations.

I think the Sox presentation is just having him watch The Blues Brothers in its entirety, in which case he can get a feel for the city that way.
