If he can replicate that +.400 OBP in the majors, it would put him in a small of group mega-stars of just Aaron Judge & Juan Soto. And while he doesn’t have the power that those two do, he makes up for it with heart and drive that few others actually possess. What's funny is I do think the most undervalued ability by scouts and analysts alike - the ability where we've seen superstars come from borderline prospects - is bat to ball skills BUT only if they can grow into a little more power/authority. Jose Ramirez the easiest example. Mookie, Altuve and Pedroia another example although Mookie younger. A lot of time spent off top 100 lists despite good production. Kwan is kind of doing it right now with very little power.

Damn

Jose just changed his approach and unlocked it, this guy not sure how much more strength he can pack on before he loses speed and becomes unplayable at 2B. Interesting player tho

Need as many position players as possible.
December 12, 20241 yr I don’t know why Braden Montgomery is in Secaucus, NJ, but he’ll be on MLB Network in a little while. I’m sure it’ll be on the Sox site later.

December 12, 20241 yr Getz should do his due diligence and at least start preparing to setup a Hagen Smith deal for Boston's 2030 and 2031 first round picks

The Red Sox stepped up though it's a little frustrating having to trade for Teel when he should have already been in the system. It's a really good deal by Getz and I hope there's a couple more on the way.

Hopefully he has learned something in the last year and a half.

I remember hearing that the White Sox would have taken Teel instead of Gonzalez but what am I missing? They were beaten out by one spot. Edited December 12, 20241 yr by WhiteSox2023

Possibly another OFer if Robert/Benintendi does go. Seem to be set for what you want to see in the infield. Do need a veteran catcher since I assume neither prospects start with the team. And then probably some random bullpen stuff to see what materializes out of them.

The reason they're undervalued is because the skill set produces a lot of situations where the set doesn't play up at all. That said, it's a good skill to gamble on for the same reason.

December 12, 20241 yr Baseball Trade Values breakdown To BOS: Crochet 53.4 To CWS: Teel 32, Montgomery 15.2, Meidroth 6.6, Gonzalez 2.8 (56.6 total) I think it's a sign that Meidroth is 6.6. Does that mean he will be our organization's equivalent of Mario Lemieux? Perhaps @Chicago White Sox is onto something... Edited December 12, 20241 yr by SoCalChiSox
