December 25, 20241 yr My view is different. In fact, I'm upset the Sox didn't sign him to a minor league deal. The chances of Eloy making it are the same as say, Robert, who also has proven nothing. In another throwaway season coming up, why didn't we reacquire Eloy. He still looks good in a uniform so to speak and if he's gonna save his career with a breakout year, why not with the Sox. Risk/reward. We should have picked him up. Cmon. He'd be as good as anybody we currently have for the outfield. Beni, Robert and Eloy on paper "again" would be potentially a winning threesome. Potentially.

To the best of my knowledge the team does not have a DH.

December 25, 20241 yr I would bet money that if the Sox would be the last team Eloy would sign a MiLB deal with after hearing his comments while with the Os

Plus you had the negative optics of often jogging down to 1B to preserve what remained of his health. Edited December 25, 20241 yr by caulfield12

Money/greed/fame is a great motivation for players...especially when the gravy train of "easy money" on that early extension came to an abrupt end. Why the White Sox "coddled" their players and DIDN'T force them to get into the "greatest shape of their lives" over the off seasons is a question best addressed to Hahn and Getz, especially in the past cases of Anderson (more off-field distractions), Grandal, Lynn, Rodon, Jimenez, Moncada, etc. Edited February 13, 20251 yr by caulfield12
February 14, 20251 yr I wish nothing but the best for Eloy, but it's really gonna hurt if he hits 40 bombs.

Robert looks like an NFL wide receiver and can't stay healthy.

How the f*** does a team FORCE a player to do anything during the offseason?
July 12, 2025Jul 12 ....Aaaaaaaand Scene Rays Release Eloy Jimenez https://t.co/jqB8o9rpgk pic.twitter.com/gd4UUEGFRz — MLB Trade Rumors (@mlbtraderumors) July 12, 2025
July 12, 2025Jul 12 It’s just astonishing how the last core just fell apart. Abreu might be 45 years old so we can leave him out, but TA and Eloy are probably done with MLB. Vaughn and Madrigal are nothings. Moncada still seems to be able to hit, but certainly not at the level a top 2 or 3 overall prospect would hit, and he can’t stay on the field anyway. Robert can’t hit ,200.
July 12, 2025Jul 12 i’ve been a sports fan for over 55 years and i can honestly say i’ve never seen “so many top prospects” just completely fizzle out like we have seen with the White Sox prospects from 5 years back!!! You would have thought at least one would have become a consistent all star, but no, all became total bust!!
July 12, 2025Jul 12 Amazed how many become injury prone. We would like to blame lack of conditioning but it happens to even the most conditioned players in all sports.
July 12, 2025Jul 12 Should we resign him? He could fill an outfield spot after the trade deadline for 4 or 5 games til he gets injured.

July 12, 2025Jul 12 What a fall from grace. That core really had a chance to do something special. Such a damn shame.
