Booser looked good today as well...big question is who's the closer?

Taylor mowing down the Dodgers.

He's definitely a Top 100 guy.

Punches out the side.

Oops

Feduccia appeals and wins by an inch.

Swing and a wild miss.

Grant Taylor looks and acts like he's ready now.

Taylor , Schultz and Smith all might arrive at the same time and all be in the rotation in 2026.

Would be cool to get some surprisingly good pitching this year among the starting pitching and try to trade for some bats in the offseason.

Taylor struck out that last hitter to end the game 3 times. All 6 outs by K .

Ha, what an ending. 6 straight Ks for Taylor to secure the save, but ABS challenges made him work for the last one.

  • Called strike 3 -> overturned, missed by 0.1"
  • Called strike 3 -> overturned, missed by 0.3"
  • Swinging strike 3 to finally end it

Great eye (and/or lucky guesses with little to lose) by the batter, and solid stuff from Taylor to not by fazed by it.

Taylor probably just put himself on a path to being a top 20 prospect if he stays healthy

That would be a big jump. He's not on any top 100 lists yet is he ?

Maybe by the time the mid season lists come out he'll be around 50 ish.

His stuff is good enough, it’s just he has no innings under him.

He may eventually get to top 20. I think people who usually do the rankings just aren't likely to put him that high on what would be many listing him in the top 100 for the 1st time.

They usually are slow admitting or recognizing pitchers without pedigree and previous doubts have been overcome so quickly without a bigger body of work. Hitters move faster.

A 50+ spots move up will be plenty for most of them health and performance permitting.

Are we hearing anything as far as how many innings they'd like to get him this year ? 100 perhaps ?

Feduccia is a catcher with a very good idea of the strike zone...

The Wilsons and Perez won't fetch much.

Martin might end up being the best trade chip...feel like Cannon will naturally slide to the back of the rotation.

Leaving Thorpe and Shane Smith as the wild cards.

Sh. Smith's emergence as a Rule 5 pick might be the biggest story of camp so far.  Other than Taylor and the Schultz/Smith slider...might have the best "easy" 96-100 arm in the entire organization.

And an amazing backstory, too.

Taylor continues to impress.

Meidroth needs more AAA time...

Meidroth will turn 24 in late July but I would still play the hold him down in AAA for a month or two game to get another full year of control out of him.

Taylor's curve was absolutely filthy today. He either threw it for a called strike or got a swing on miss on just about every curve thrown. The 99 mph fastball didn't really even play that much today. There at most a half dozen guys in all of minor league ball that have better stuff than him.

Lost in the Smith & Taylor hype was Nastrini.  He threw 27 sliders yesterday out of 51 pitches total and generated 15 swings and 12 whiffs on it (80%).  I didn’t catch any of the game, but that’s an insane whiff rate on paper.  Did anyone see him pitch yesterday?  If so, how did the slider and the rest of his stuff look?  Wondering if he’s made some tweaks with the pitch.

FB?I saw was 94.3.  That's a notch or two higher than I remember from last season
