September 1, 2025Sep 1 Down in Nashville, @SoxMachine hears Mike Clevinger is being called up to the White Sox as rosters expand tomorrow. However, I was told he’s not starting. — James Fegan (@JRFegan) September 1, 2025
September 1, 2025Sep 1 No other MLB GM would actually sign Clevinger to a minor league deal. Getz will not only pay him millions over two years straight, but he will also let him pitch when the entire world knows he’s a cancer and also sucks. What else can you say?

September 1, 2025Sep 1 Author Civale is obviously not starting tmrw. Bryse Wilson again? They supposedly worry about the PR fallout from letting Robert go for nothing in return, but not about the ramifications of Clevinger being back yet again? Did the A’s owner take over instead of Ishbia…? Edited September 1, 2025Sep 1 by caulfield12

September 1, 2025Sep 1 I would love to hear what the actual point of this is, plenty of other arms they could've promoted instead.

Apparently we have the worst ownership and the most cowardly GM in baseball because no one else has signed the guy in three years.

Even that idiot/scumbag Preller didn't want him back after trading a boat load of talent to get him. Preller definitely learned his lesson, though. Once bitten, twice shy.
September 1, 2025Sep 1 WTF. I get that they want someone to throw innings and protect younger arms, but c'mon. Clevinger is a glaring example of everything that is wrong with this franchise. They don't care about what the fans want. They don't develop young talent. They don't prioritize winning at the mlb level in any way shape or form. They've let Tyler Alexander put up 13 losses in about 2/3 of a season. For the $1.3 mil they save by letting Civale go, they're exposing themselves to millions in bad PR. Oh yeah, and they have plenty of milb relievers who deserve to get their feet wet in the majors AND who are Rule 5 eligible over the winter. Instead they're carrying Clevinger, Bryse Wilson, and Owen White on the roster for God only knows what reason. I'm not part of the firs Chris Getz crowd, but fire Chris Getz.

So let me get this straight, minority owners have zero say on how the White Sox operate, dont set budgets, cant sign players or make decisions but in this rare case, they're keeping mike clevinger employed?? Give me a break. Edited September 1, 2025Sep 1 by Look at Ray Ray Run

Give me a break. It's the two sons of a long time minority owner (who died at a pretty old age fairly recently.) Better to think of them as spoiled heirs.
September 1, 2025Sep 1 It’s gonna be hilarious when he throws a perfect game. I won’t find out about it til after the fact because I won’t be watching, but it’ll still be funny to read the reactions. Edited September 1, 2025Sep 1 by Milkman delivers

I laughed at first that he was blackmailing someone in the organization but that's looking actually possible. Just when I thought @Balta1701would be back. "isn't that great?" It's not even close to great. There is literally zero upside
September 1, 2025Sep 1 Ah yes, anytime the Sox even dream about positive vibes, they play the Clevinger card. Genius. Either Getz is on board with this, or he doesn't have nearly as much power as we have been told. Either way, it's massive red flags.
