Maybe just maybe they're feeling a LITTLE bit of pressure to provide some entertainment value before Smith, Taylor, Schultz and eventually Braden/Bonemer in 2026... Plus, this is their big opportunity to move some chips in and see what they can get offensively before guys like Tauchman and Slater and Robert get dumped on other teams. The Crochet trade on paper is looking pretty good early - for both teams - but Sox needed positional talent and while Montgomery is slumping, he is high upside and high character and Meidroth isn’t sexy but a damn solid ball player and OBP machine and Teel looks like a potential long time stud catcher.
