Not going to happen because the one that they chose to promote is currently terrible at the profession. The pool of female umpires is probably limited so that may be part of the problem.

Agreed. Didn’t hate it. I doubt Venable was aware that a new slap hitter on the roster doesn’t know how to bunt.

If Sam would have just stayed on first and got tagged out and it was a DP, I would have had no issue with that.

Also who called for a splitter on an 0-2 count when the batter could not catch up to the fastball twice? Quero, the pitcher or the bench? Don’t trust QUERO judgement. He is a terrible catcher. He is leading MLB in losing ABS CHALLENGES as well.

Yep, it will just lead to people calling her “the DEI hire” when the truth is that she just sucks period, not because she’s a woman. The pool of available male umpires is no doubt much larger and many of them absolutely suck in the majors as well.

The base runner is more likely to hear it in that situation anyway.

Putting Vargas in a clutch pressure situation seems like a trade to take right now.
