I just saw a Cubs fan nickname their starter tonight Jordan Wicks — “Jordan Sucks”. Simple and to the point, which I appreciate.

Their rotation is also in shambles. They needed to sign Giolito and acquire one or two more starters. How in the hell were they outbid for Giolito by the Padres? $3 million plus incentives.

IMO, Venable should have sent Antonacci to steal 2nd, with men on 1st and 3rd in the 10th, only one out. He allowed the double play to remain in order and they turned it.

Sox have a better team today than the Cubs , particularly pitching and offense. Cubs have a better defense, but the Sox has good core of young, hungrier, skilled players, while the Cubs have a bunch of highly payed older players underperforming. IMO.

Venable did not have a good game with the bunt with 2 strikes, and this lack of aggressiveness not sending Antonacci to steal. It was likely that the Twins would not have even attempted a throw to second, afraid that Acuna would score from third. I would award Venable the Pedro Grifol Memorial Award tonight.
