I wonder who goes down/DFA. I predict Nishida goes down and McDougal moves to the 60 day IL. (Could also be Shane Smith)

McDougs wasn't on the major league roster, so he can't go on the 60-day. Maybe Austin Hays or Jordan Hicks to the 60-day?

  • How many more times does @ron883 have to be vindicated? First with the prediction of Sam Antonacci's (The Chairman of the Board's) greatness. Now the Braden Montgomery call up. I'm sure there's more I

  • So cool, I befriended one of his family members before the draft and it’s the nicest family ever.

Shane Smith isn’t on the MLB IL but they could still do that right? He would just be gaining service time instead of not?

If you think he can't be forced to learn more at AAA, fine I guess.

I'd be shocked to see him succeed right away with his current profile.

Between this and the huge traffic jam on the 40, this seems rushed, but hopefully he doesn't burn.

All rookie OF let's gooooo

Feels too early to me, but I’ll trust the Sox for now.

Got to think Rikuu is going to be sent down.

Love seeing all these kids coming up and going through it together. Not to mention all of them seem like quality human beings. Braden is a great kid by all accounts. I wish him the absolute best and I hope he never goes back down.

Felt like not being able to make that play (granted a tough play) yesterday was the end of Nishida. Can't be a 4th OF without absolute elite defense as a slap hitter. That might be his only taste of MLB in his career but at least he got it.

Going to the game tonight and I hope Braden is in the lineup. Here's hoping he can help the team get into the 2026 playoffs. i can't find anything about Joe Rock. Is he a starter or relief pitcher?

Not looking good for Hays, but optioning Rikuu is definitely the right move.

Intending to see Joe Rock get the call. I wonder if this will be a one & down who gives some innings and then gets sent down for a more permanent option. I feel Hagen Smith can’t be too far off if they are being this aggressive with Braden.

Signing Austin Hays was a good idea. But this dude has even been more hurt this year than in years past. Good thing we didn't even really need him. See ya.

Also goodbye to Nishida.

5 bullpen LHP, unless Rock starts.

We're about to be Joe Rock'n in here!

.....

oh, and welcome up, Braden.

I think the Sox just feel they need another power threat somewhere in the lineup with this tough stretch of games coming up. Even if Braden struggles with chasing or ground-balls, hitting a couple mistakes over the fence probably makes him more valuable than Rikuu.

Hagen Smith seems likely to start very soon by these moves

Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if we don’t see Hayes until the very end of the season. I liked the signing as a placeholder given the price, but at this point you can’t rely on him and just move forward like he’s not part of the plan.

Fully agree

Kudos @ron883 for being all over this. Dude is on fire right now with his predictions.

He can stay on there for the rest of the year. Especially with the solid play we were getting out of Pereia who shoulld be returning soon. Hill probably goes bye bye.

Dude literally no one else cares about this kind of stuff

Speak for yourself - I for one woke up today excited to spend my week tuning in to the posts about the posts about the posts about Braden Montgomery! Here's hoping my favorite Soxtalk posters' posts about posters will be vindicated and I can tell my kids I got to see them see it all happen. What a great time to be a White Sox fan fan fan.

Yea I don't know what purpose Hill serves. Seems like a good clubhouse guy but can't hit a lick.

I call BS on this. Didn’t @tray originally wish cast this into existence?

In any case, @tray’s sacks still packed with seamen.
