1 hour ago1 hr Is it bad that I like the Bart trade and is one of my favorites? Maybe it's because I hate Romo so much

No.But if you just wanted to leave this without feeling too hurt, you probably are ok. If, like me, you think teams should try to get better during the deadline, you may be disappointed.

1 hour ago1 hr The actual competitors for the AL have all gotten better. Besides the bullpen I am not sure we really have

1 hour ago1 hr They clearly wanted to thread a needle, idk if that’s the right call over all, but I’m okay with the result given the strategy.
1 hour ago1 hr Curious if they can find a new home for Hays (or Grich, I guess, but he seems to have really ingratiated himself with the clubhouse)

1 hour ago1 hr people saying that Bart is better than Romo, are you assuming that Romo is the one that's going to be sent down and not Quero? I know Noah said he likes when he catches him but it doesn't matter what he wants to be honest, in Romo is a better framer too. in fact I don't think quero does anything good honestly

The glaring hole for me was a starting pitcher and some sort of catcher with a pulse. I think they upgraded both positions. I will be annoyed if Quero is the one going down because I think he's shown some signs of life at the plate where as Romo does absolutely nothing well in my eyes.

If, like me, you think teams should try to get better during the deadline, you may be disappointed.I think we are better. Castillo is better than our 4/5 pitchers, we got a better RP than Seranthony, and we got a better catcher than Romo. Doyle has upside and is more proven than Periera. Is it massively better, no. But its better and we lost nothing of substantial value. The sox shouldnt be in complete go for it mode at this point. If Castillo reverts to his form of the last 5 years than this team is good enough to make a run in the playoffs.
1 hour ago1 hr BART........+0.4 WAR 86 OPS+Good defensive metricsNothing to write home about but much better then we have now

It goes from a .492 OPS auto-out to a .680 OPS, which is basically in between Derek Hill and Braden Montgomery. It's not great, but at least it's a real MLB hitter
