Quero has been optioned 1x, and it was this year, and you cannot use multiple options per year.

Still think Romo is the easy DFA. He does nothing well.

The last CBA also said you can be sent down only 3 times in a season, otherwise you have to go through waivers to be sent down.

A kick in the ankle is much better than a kick in the balls. Thank you.

  • People watch Romo bat .100 with no power or walks for months and suddenly you're not happy with a guy who is a little below average at the plate

  • We gave up Duncan fucking Davitt who most people here didn't even know he existed prior to the callup. Literally nothing and improved the catching position.. I get you wanna b**** to b**** but at leas

You have to be realistic here. Your not getting a C a lot better than this without giving up quite a bit. They gave up nothing for him. They still have all their top prospects which is what we all wanted and they are at least somewhat better today at Catcher than yesterday.

I am saying you get three options across three seasons on each player. You can send a guy up and down several times a year and use just 1. He's already been optioned this year, so his 1 option for the year has already been burned.

It is actually 5, not 3, I was wrong.

I knew 3 didn’t sound right.

DFA Romo, he probably clears and you stash him at AAA.

Pereira is the corresponding DFA apparently, which I think is dumb.

Perreira is DFA

Something is better than nothing. They at least tried to get some help, I didn't think they'd be able to.

I'm assuming they are done now.

Overall nice they were in a position because of their record to go out and make moves but I think everyone would agree none of the moves move the needle much.

We'll see what happens but I was hoping for more 'impact' additions.

I think Brazobon has a chance of moving the needle. Otherwise I agree.

They have to hope that Quero works his way out of his funk, because Romo stinks and Bart isn’t much better. Decent backup but we won’t want to see Bart with starter at bats either.

The great Getz prize was DFA’ed?

Apparently they don't think that much of him. I'd rather have him instead of Doyle. Oh well.

I think 3 is something the players just asked for in the upcoming negotiations, so that might be what had it on your mind.

So now we have three bad catchers on the roster? Why didn't they send down one of Romo and Quero. What am I missing.

This makes the Doyle trade worse, if that is at all possible. I’d rather have Mason Adams and Pereira on this team with Vielma in the minors than Doyle on this team instead of those three, and I don’t even like Pereira that much.

I agree with this 100%. At the end of the day. I don't believe this will backfire on the Sox. My only concern would be Vielma turning into something. That's probably not likely.

Well they aren't going to carry 3 catchers on the 26-man so there's still a decision to be made (or else I'm going to be really surprised)

Man let me see your scouting report on Vielma. Want to compare it to mine since we've both seen him so much.

Right? It's not like trading a DSL guy has ever bitten us in the ass. Let's just trade them all since none of us have seen them in person. 300 IQ move!

So just because it happened once means we should hold these guys forever? Most of them don't even make it stateside.

I don’t know anything about him. Regardless, even if he wasn’t included in the Doyle trade, Getz seemingly made the roster worse for this year. You still didn’t explain to me why they are better from this series of moves.

They got a starter, a reliable bullpen arm, upgraded catching, and a gold glove caliber CFer they can platoon with Peters who has been struggling lately. I wish they'd have kept Everson, but Fuller hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Edit - and also dumped their overpaid closer who was an unreliable gas can.

By your logic we shouldn't attempt to value them because none of us have seen them play. Plenty of guys becomes studs after.coming from DSL. Vielma signed for a good chunk of change and was putting up great numbers for a 16 year old.
